No RCAs again in our office... No relief days.

Our most recent RCA quite a week out ago and we have 3 K routes and 1 aux route. Our only RCA we have left has to do the aux route. There have been postings but no one applied. Our office somehow doesn't qualify for a PTF position because we have an Aux route? I know we should grieve but is there a way to get a PTF carrier in our office?

At least you have a position posted ! Our incompetent in charge was complaining that the position was not posted recently, we lost someone at the start of this year, were you to busy since Jan to get something posted ??? I do not think so.

In our office we have 8k routes and 1 aux and have 2 Two PTFs! Be careful what you ask for! When you get a PTF or 2 then Management in your district sees routes have replacement carriers and PTF's can do up to (4) routes on a string and then they stop hiring RCA's, not a good thing, I eneded up with Thursday as my "K" day and I have been on my route SINCE 2003, 17 F$#%^ing years and I have a Thursday off, what BS!!!

We have three K routes so 1 ptf would do all three?

OK. That covers K days, but how do sick days and annual get covered? This what has always been wrong with the PTF position. And in your office it appears that a PTF is holding down an aux? No other RCAs in office? In our office I would be happy to have any day of the week off. I have worked many K days and cannot take annual or sick days as there has been NO coverage. Maybe soon.

How big is this AUX run?

Aux runners are still classified as RCAS. It does not matter what option they select to work to cover the AUX run. They still can be used to cover any run(s) which need help after covering the AUX. The 12 hour rule applies to them also.

I had today and tomorrow off because they were made to do theirs and mine.

If you're sick you're sick.. take a sick day and if the route doesn't get coverage then that is NOT your problem.
I beg to differ! It is your problem. You have to deliver that mess the next day. Our only rca is now on a hold down. If we call in, the route doesnt get delivered until we come back in! Adr just shrugs. No amount of money is worth that mess. Our office is f#$ked.

I've read several of your posts about your office, totally absurd situation. I think you mentioned that the boss delivers parcels to make ends meet. District is no help and union is oblivious. Can't help but wonder if District has it in for your management and the carriers and customers are collateral damage.

Umm your management should be delivering that route. If you come in and see your route was left down, call the postal inspectors and report it. Then claim 8127 time or Aux assistance for the rolled mail.

This is interesting.....I have seen this mentioned in previous threads....what do the Postal Inspectors do?

Whom do they call....the PMG? Seriously, would love to see how this pans out.

What a reward!

Geez, and people wonder why I don't want to go regular.

I would become junior carrier and it may be 100 years before I even got a day off.

On the route I sub, only the Reg and I know it. So, we coordinate and handle if one is sick, gone, etc. So, its a very short loop and efficient.

Its probably giving the PO more than it deserves, but its just the way it shakes out. It has crossed my mind that it would be a bugger if the Covid thing got both of us in short order. Luckily, around here, Covid seems to be a relative weakling at the moment.
