Has any sub not gone regular and just stayed a sub? I know being a sub sucks, been doing it for almost 6 years now. But the pay is pretty good. I would be going down about $6 an hour if I went regular.
I know there are a lot of benefits to being regular: health insurance, retirement, being on the same route no matter what, rarely last minute call ins, etc. But I think there's some benefits to being a sub too. The main one for me is not being tied down to one area or office. Every office seems to need subs.
I guess what I'm saying is that I'm turning 49 next year and when the option comes up in the near future I don't know what I really want to do. I NEVER thought I would utter those words.
I just wanted to get the opinions from anyone who stayed a sub. Did you regret it, what were the reasons you made your decision?
