nrlca supplemental life insurance in retirement

Has anyone else kept the supplemental life insurance in retirement? I have seen conflicting information about whether this is an option. Also: do you need to remain a member of the nrlca to keep the insurance?

No, not FEGLI. It is called: NRLCA LTD and Life Insurance Program. I have had it for many years. It has a little extra insurance, in addition to FEGLI, for myself and my family.

If it's the disability insurance, it's not worth it IMO. The return on policy is very weak with the company they changed over to. I dropped it about 10 years ago after looking at the changes in terms and payouts. You can find better policies out there.
Also, you may not qualify for disability after retirement. So, they shouldn't offer something you can't collect on. The disability only covers working carriers.
