Official start date?

When you are first hired as an RCA, does your enter on duty date begin the day you accept the job? The first day of orientation? Or the first day you show up to work at your office? Or some other date?

It begins the first day you get paid, which is your Shadow Day.

Not sure it starts on shadow day. Recent newbie had 3 days of academy training before shadow day. Will be paid for these 3 days of school.

That's strange they had academy before the shadow day. In that case it would be the first academy day. Only reason I said shadow day is because that's normally what happens first.

So how is my start date on my Form-50 1/1/10 since that's a legal holiday?  I always wondered that, but never thought to press it.

Your start date makes no sense to me, as 1-1-10 was a Friday and most first days are on the beginning of a pay period, Saturday, or Monday.
