OH NO!

B.s....it happens to me a lot...I didn't scan my last 10 yesterday..I would've missed the truck
I hate it when they try to bully you guys..all they have to do is override them..my super does it and it can be done...either your super doesn't know or they're b.s. you.
Holy crap. My pm insists the package be scanned at the address. She tries to force me to go find it. Or goes to find it herself and then gets pissed at me for not answering my phone. And this is on maybe one package a month. I still can't believe no one can verify the accuracy of the scanners. District wide, there is an almost two percent missed scan rate.but none of that is the scanner s fault?

With the RRECS check going on for the next year you may miss some of you pay check by not scanning parcels. Don't avoid scanning anything, because that will be how you are paid.

Lots of good, replies, tactics that should have been supplied to you in training, but doubtless where not. The training USPS fails to provided is just astounding to me. Hard to understand how such a big employer can completely disregard training. Its due to manpower mismanagement among other things.
Anyway, I'd just say that if anyone jumps you stuff about this pittance of a problem, to keep professionally and civilly circling back to your training (lack of that is) Be specific:
No training provided in regard to function of equipment, rebooting, etc.
No maunual/instructions provided for issue equipment.
No training or directives for delivery when unable to scan.
No training on capturing barcode image if there is a scanner failure.
No immediate supervisor available for questions while on route.
No backup directives for scanner failure.
No employer provide two way communication equipment.

This was my first full week by myself as a new RCA. Today, nearing the end of my route my scanner decided to quit working. I delivered 3 parcels without scanning them. I did not know not to do this!! I told my supervisor when I got back and she pretty much told me I’m gonna be in big trouble. How is this going to play out ?
Welcome to the catch 22. They will complain you did wrong to deliver it (because it gives them extra work) and if you had brought it back as well (because they will have to pay you extra for going back out).

Yes, yes already acknowledged...though if we're going to get technical, an old cell phone without service can still take pictures. Or even on a digital camera....anyone still have one? :)
My old flip phone doesn't have a camera. I do have several digital cameras. Sometimes have one on the route with me. In case of cute deer or special landscapes. Not for USPS use. In an emergency if it means covering my butt I would use my own camera. But would not take orders from management to use it for official business.
