Orange and Blue.

We used to use color code cards back in the day. 75% of our carriers have NO CLUE as to what they are and what they mean. We have a million of them in my office and these clowns use them for parcel markers. It's pathetic.

not to be ugly but if the carriers werent trained and told as to what they are and what they are for it is not there fault-i know i never was until about 3 years later.

-- Worse than that, back in the day, if a carrier was caught handling the color code cards, it was a firing offense.

No biggie @mail1000 . Actually, it's the PO that has dropped the ball AGAIN with this type of stuff. Everything HAD to have a color code on it. That went out YEARS ago.

I know !! That's what is so hilarious and at the same time disgusting about that whole thing. Now, almost all of them have numbers on them written in Sharpie, names, tape all over them, CFS stickers on them, I saw one recently with a french fry stuck to one. I reflect back to the carriers that had to have Union representation just because they had one in their hand ( NOT one removed from mail placed at their case ) and I just shake my head.

back in the day you took everything everyday no storage at the case. Are you back in Bingo always a rumor that a few of the routes started cutting bulk on Wen. for the sub to work Sat. stopped working in Bingo.
Doesn't have anything to do with Binghamton. But let me give you an update. They somehow scored some really good subs over the recent months. Cross between arcs and rcas. I enjoy rubbing elbows with them every other Sunday. Street smart people, good workers, straight talkers. My kind of people.

But back to orange and blue. I'm getting at what has to be delivered when, and how it can be manipulated to bury a sub, so a regular can waltz through the week. I'm tired. I'll elaborate later.

I / we knew to what you were referring. Blue is Monday and Orange is Tuesday. That / those are the day(s) the mail to which the color code corresponds can be delivered no later than. Regular carriers have no business being creative with delaying that mail so they can cruise through the week and have an RCA hammered on Saturday or ANY day for that matter.

We haven't seen either orange or blue, but as a regular that works every Saturday, I can tell you that the plant absolutely dumps on us on Saturdays. Usually a long day especially if Amazon brings a couple of pallets that they have been saving since Thursday. We have noticed that since diesel fuel prices are at record levels that the Truck bringing the Amazon drop to our office delivers maybe every other day or so. I figure they are consolidating the loads, i.e. if the truck isn't completely full it doesn't move. Saves fuel, but absolutely kills us when all the parcels finally show up for delivery.

I love you. I love you so much I'm not even going to read another response. Maybe later.

My fellow RCAs',

You need to understand this more than anything you think you need to understand. If you provide relief to a regular on Saturday and always feel like something just doesn't add up, you are not slow, you are not crazy, you are being dumped on. Orange and Blue is how they do it.

If you walk into a mountain on Saturday, there is nothing wrong with saying to the clerk, PM, whoever is there Saturday morning, "You better figure out what is Blue and Orange or I will." Providing a full day of relief to a regular DOES NOT include delivering their sh*t scanned for Monday and Tuesday. That is their effing job.

the Mountain here has been shifting from Monday to Saturday for the last few months Here but formula office. Only J routes and 1 K has saturdays off.

You can file a grievance for mail being rolled on a sub too. It’s the evaluated system and it’s called a fairs day pay. It’s in the contract.

Actually, mail cannot be curtailed by ANYONE , regular or RCA, WITHOUT management's permission. Then, it is management's responsibility to report ANY and ALL curtailed mail as delayed mail. THEY ( management ) can get into some serious trouble for NOT reporting delayed mail.

To be clear, it is management doing this to RCAs', using the approved color coded clearance matrix. It is a cop out to handling 2080 issues. They dump Monday mail delivered Friday with Tuesday mail delivered on Saturday, all with Saturday mail on RCAs'.

Like I said:

"You better figure out what is blue and orange or I will."

An RCA cannot be held responsible, in any serious way, for failing to deliver Monday and Tuesday mail on the preceding Saturday. This is the biggest con game played on leave replacements and it is utter bullsh*t. It disgusts me beyond words. Historic low numbers on leave replacements and the clowns keep using this dirty trick to avoid dealing with inadequate regulars.

Saturday may be the first day of the new week, payroll wise, but it is the EFFING 6th delivery day for the week. There shouldn't be jack left by Saturday.

OIG may be interested in learning about this scenario especially since it is an ongoing issue. There are provisions in place to deal with and handle 2080 issues. Regularly and continuously "floating" mail IS NOT one of them.

Also, there is this from the P.O.M. There is quite a bit more. From Section 458

Receipt Day Color Code Delivery Day
Saturday Orange Tuesday
Sunday Orange Tuesday
Monday Green Wednesday
Tuesday Violet Thursday
Wednesday Yellow Friday
Thursday Pink Saturday
Friday Blue Monday

You'll see that it is a TWO DAY MAXIMUM.
