Ordered to return to PO for a package, not wanting to pay me

I was already out on my route, 6 miles out, when I was called to come back in for a package that was mis-thrown by a clerk and discovered after I already left. When I get back after running my route I asked if my deviation time and mileage go on a green card or 4240. Super said neither and that I should talk to the postmaster monday.

Never answer your phone you definitely get paid 2min a mile for 2nd trip if you did it after you were done with the route, when you deviate you get actual time from where you are till you get back there, as in deviation from route for an express. If pm refuses to pay you when you see him Monday, as soon as you get your paycheck file a grievance.

Ibpd16 -- Next time suggest to manglement that the clerk who mis-threw the parcel really should be the one to deliver the parcel.

-- Stop answering your phone.

-- If such a message came as a text on the scanner. It does not qualify as an emergency situation. Grieve it when you get back to the office and contact your ADR.

I contacted my DR (no shop steward,) because they started sending scanner texts about misplaced parcels at the window and asking me to find misdelivered parcels my relief carriers had gotten wrong. I spoke to other carriers, they were having the same texts.

I asked for a class action grievance if management didn't desist, because those grievances don't have my name on them. (I have enough of a target on my back.)

The non-emergency texting has stopped.

Anyone noticed how the scanners the clerks use will also mis-identify which route a package goes to? Especially with Amazon. I've been retrieving boxes when it happens; will hear the scanner ID a box for my route, but its not. In our office I'd guess the scanner is wrong about 2% of the time, which can really add up.

For being such a lovely a-hole. I'd suggest not only the 2nd trip grievance, but also a ban from ever having to use your phone, and scanner text for extreme emergency only situations.

If packages are misthrows at our office we don't come back or deliver them at the end of the day. Either the PM or the lead clerk will make a run with them when they take the express packages out from the noon truck. The more this happen, the less it happens due to the inconvenience to the PM as well as the office!
