Police: Scranton postal employee threatens to kill manager

Po mgmt does usually TOTALLY SUCK....However that right there is completely unacceptable. I will say that if they are determined to follow through with it, they should suffer the same fate. We dont need people like that here that want to commit atrocities like this...😡😡😡😡🤠

I'd like the real story. Not to say you're allowed to say you're going to kill your co-workers but what did management do to this guy? I'm gathering they said something that made him defensive about his family and income. These gossip rags like to toss a few sensational sounding scraps of the conversation out as clickbait without providing the whole story.

Yeah....I wanna hear....THE REST OF THE STORY..🤠

He shouldn't have answered the phone while on the route.
Then when hes back at office if confronted maybe someone could be a witness to the conversation. Otherwise its he said she said.
And, he could have requested a representative to be present.
Why do people keep answering mgmt calls while on the route, or at home?

I blocked my new pm back in December, nearly every week he gives me a "did you get my text??" Always wanting us to text him about this and that for various reasons, all of which can be done without using personal phones.

I don’t follow the conversation at all.

It was on the telephone one manager was spoken to. The Police said the carrier was upset. So, it is unlikely the carrier confessed. If someone said I made a death threat on the phone I would be upset also.

Where is the evidence? If I say a manager threatened me over the phone that is not his problem.

Well, it is NOT a requirement for you to have a cell phone in order for employment. Also, it is NOT required, if you do have a cell phone, that the phone be on your person while on the route. Having said that, messaging carriers via the scanner is permitted but , even then, only for safety related issues. A copy of THAT memo is below.

The Postal Service has enabled the “text messaging” function on the new Mobile Delivery Devices (MDD). This functionality allows supervisors to send real-time text messages and alerts to employees who are using the MDD.

This email is to indicate that effective immediately, only safety-related messages or alerts are to be sent via text messaging to rural carriers using the MDD. In addition, if there are identified locations where management may have provided a stand-up talk indicating additional supervisory use of text messaging; please ensure that they are informed that only safety-related messaging may be sent to rural carriers.

Questions regarding this information should be directed to Area Delivery Operations or Labor Relations. Area personnel may contact Sean Rice in Rural Delivery or Reggie Rabon in Labor Relations.

This thread won't allow me to attach the memo so that's why I pasted it all here. If anyone wants it, PM me and I'll send it to you so you can print it out.

Bill them for actual time each day for checking your phone for management's latest text. I mean the whole day's total work time. There's no break for those anticipating management's next text!📱

When every day is at the double-time rate for all carriers, management will lose the inspiration to text carriers.

Don't forget those who are at home, also receiving text messages. A relief day just isn't a relief day if the whole day isn't relief. 😉

dang, @Dominator! wish i woulda thought of the WHOLE DAY back when i had to break a manager of texting.

i charged $5 a minute 8127 time and wrote it in the comments section of the 4240.

If the local Postmaster is calling on a regular basis shouldn’t a cell phone be considered part of the standard equipment the Postal Service is paying for in addition to being paid for the time used?
