The U.S. Postal Service has hired Matt Connelly, a logistics and supply chain industry veteran with more than 30 years experience at parcel giant UPS, as chief solutions and strategy officer, Postmaster General David Steiner said Friday.

All -- Apparently the USPS hiring two executives from competing companies is tell the rest of the USPS VPs that they are not capable of filling higher USPS positions.
In the private sector, where success and profits are imperative, executive search and hiring goes outside the company where there's a history of decline or failure.

Our long term postal employee executives are likely too set in their old ways, and new ideas with force to make them happen was the PMG's thought.

IMHO it was two good moves. I have a contact, former top level (executive committee corporate) of our competitor who recently retired. He's got some great ideas to fix things, but nobody at the post office would entertain real change to bring success.
