PS Form 3849 during Mail Count

Sorry, I am quite new at the whole count thing and was unable to attend a count meeting... Where should I be getting credit for form 3849? My postmaster will not allow me to use the Parcel Lockers at the apartments in our area due to theft and has required me to use form 3849 (or the new equivalent) daily for their packages regardless of size and if they will fit in their personal mail slot. Average during count was 3 daily (most of the time more) because our apartment people love Amazon and WISH.com. This takes a lot of in office time but I am not sure where I should be getting credit for it.

If there is a "theft" problem in your area and you "aren't allowed to deliver parcels", that is your payment. Most of us have to lug those 50 pounds of dog food up all those flights of stairs and deliver our parcels. You don't get any extra because you are required not to deliver parcels, some offices don't give parcel credit out for parcels that didn't "go for the ride" with the carrier.

You should have been credited an extra scan for every Left Notice. Most of the 30 seconds allotted for a parcel is in-office time and you did still have to handle, write up the notice, and (I assume) deliver the parcel to a hold shelf for that apt complex. But we only get 1 scan per parcel that has a confirmation scan so you need to be paid for having to scan the 3849 in addition to that parcel scan.

An aux carrier has a new community (CBU), this person has asked boss "unit", for the parcel locker key numerous times and he cannot get one, so he/she has had to bring a majority of the packages to the door/porch.

What recourse, does this person have with respect to the count ?

This person is wary of causing waves due to retailiattion of the ahole in charge.

I guess, he/she can dispute the count, but I doubt this person will do it.

You have to return signed or unsigned count forms by Wednesday 4/22 I thought. Any attempt to bully carriers to sign and hand them in sooner should be reported.

our supervisor, still hasn't given copies out for the last 3 days of count. I made copies of mine everyday, sat down and told her what was missing, there wasn't a day that there wasn't 5 things that needed correction. hope the others learn from this.

They have zero recourse. Here is the deal... KEEP the lockers on your count! If you "remove" those parcel lockers from the count because you cannot actually use them, then you're cutting 2 MINUTES per locker per week from your route. The actual "to the door" gets nothing during count (or ever). At least CBU routes get time for the lockers whereas Curb routes get ZERO for delivering those pkgs to the door.

We have a heck of a time trying to get our lockers repaired but I'm not about to let the "inspection" person remove time due to maintenance repair issues. I'm still waiting after 3 yrs for a couple needing repairs.

Howah44 -- Even if you can't use them ( no keys ) keep the parcel lockers on the route.

-- Removing them physically is the same as having a wing or section removed from your case. Once it gets to the loading dock, it is not coming back! And there goes 2 minutes.
