PTF/rca

I am a rca assigned a aux route in a formula office.  Our 1 PTF told me they may switch back so we are not a formula office- and if do- the PTF will then take my aux route from me, because there is no career route open for them opening up.... can this happen?  Can my job basically be taken away?

I didn't think so- can a office go back to a non formula office if there is a PTF?  What happens to the person that holds that position.     My understanding was you can only get rid of the PTF position if they move to a vacated career route.
