Yes and no. You receive a higher hourly rate of pay because you do not receive holiday pay. A Table 2 Step 1 PTF makes $19.56 per hour or $19.56 * 2000 annual hours =$39,120 annually. A 40 hour a week Table 2 Step 1 Regular Carriers annual salary is $39115 based on 2080 annual hours. Soooo-your annual salary is about the same as a Table 2 step 1 regular except you do not receive the 80 annual hours of holiday pay so therefore, it is made up in your hourly rate. Now the tricky part. Your overtime pay rate is going to be $28.22/hour. This is not $19.56/hour *1.5=$29.34. Why????? Your annual salary is divided by 2080 hours to arrive at $18.81/hour *1.5=$28.22/hour OT. Yes--you are <span style="text-decoration: underline">not</span> paid the holiday rate of 80 hours annually when OT is applied. Talk about some BS contract negotiations. I can only imagine some a-holes at the table saying look at the great deal you are getting for PTF's. But we'll be damned if we are going to give up $1.12/hr in OT.
