Question about EMA

I ran an auxillary route last pay period using my POV, so I'm looking at my online pay stub and it shows the EMA earned however, when I add up my work hours and OT, the total doesn't seem to include the earned EMA. Am I understanding it wrong? Am I getting screwed? I need to know because I've been running a new route out of my POV these past two weeks and have just been awarded the route. Yes, I'm now a regular, or soon will be.

2nd unrelated question. The PM asked if I wanted to be paid hourly or evaluated for the new route. I honestly didn't know, I didn't even know I had a choice. So she says she'll help me out, tells me that even during this Christmas season I'm right at evaluation, and since I am, it will pay more. So I said sure, let's go with evaluation. So I guess I don't have a question, just stream of consciousness jabbering.

ema is not taxed so you need to add up your wages, subtract taxes and other deductions, then add ema to get your net pay.

if your running the route at evaluated time now, with christmas parcels, you'll be ahead to take eval. pay. in my opinion.

Got it, I was indeed reading it wrong. Or not completely.
Thanks.

-- At least you have a knowable ( and maybe honest ) PM! Somehow, not all PM's / supervisors will ask.

-- Probably less of a headache for manglement and Eagan by going evaluation.

-- The 2018-2021 contract retro pay is being delayed because Eagan personnel have to manually compute it. Something like what happens when a carrier goes over 2240 work hours in a year.

-- Have to ask: What is the route's evaluation? And what is the mileage? Do you have Amazon?

-- Article 9.2.A.1.o. Provides for a new regular to be paid evaluation or to be paid hourly until the end of the Guarantee Year ( next October ). That would mean OT for any worked performed after 8 hours in a day or over 40 hours in any one service week. Starting with the new Guarantee Year, you get paid evaluation.

-- EMA is based upon a 40-mile route. That's why the wording about exceeding 40 miles for additional EMA for second trips, etc.

-- Becoming a regular rural carrier at Christmas time -- quite a "present".

-- Congratulations and welcome aboard. Some offices will postpone placing a new regular on an awarded route until January. Keep checking your personal eFile for a new Form 50 ( and keep all of them )

27 miles, 41K and growing with a new subdivision, and our zip lost Amazon two years ago, though of course we still get the occasional Amazon packages.
