RCA paid evaluated if under 40?

If I am an RCA on a route evaluated at 48 hours, and I run it for six days (no relief available) in 39 hours...do I get paid for 48 hours??

Make sure to keep an eye on that so that you are not robbed of that time. Take the e4240 (time sheet) to the copier and make a copy of it. Hang on to it until you see your pay check.

-- Pardon the bluntness, but you are part of the problem.

-- If you can consistently run a 48-hour route in 39 hours, all power to you and you should get paid the for 48 hours -- as long as you keep it under 39:59 hours.

-- Another great example of manglement not doing its job - IMHO - as the PO-603's Section 151.2 calls for manglement to consider "corrective" action if the weekly time required to serve the route consistently varies more than three hours, either below [ in your case ] or in excess of the route's standard hours.

Yes, as long as you're not doing any "green card" time. As long as your ACTUAL work hours for all routes & assists for the week are under 40 hours.

BTW... a 48k evaluated route is 48 for 5 days. If you're under 40 for 6 days of work, you get for full 6-days or 57.6 hours.

BTDTRET-- I understand that you see me as the "problem". But, I am an RCA.... I can run this rt in 43-44 hours and get paid for actual time. Or, I can speed up a little, which I do not mind doing, and get paid for 48 hours while working just 39. I'm home at 2:00 everyday, but am actually get paid until 3:30. If I was a regular I would agree with you...I am the problem, but I'm not a regular yet. The problem is not me...it is a flawed pay system..

I'm glad you don't deliver in my neighborhood around my kids.

I don't actually have children haha but be careful going that fast, manglement will have you help other routes if there's a call off or new sub or say they really need help on Sunday or some other excuse to get you over that 40. Its happened to me

ihatesnow----lol...no, I don't speed up on the road...just my prep in the morning, and actual deliveries...no wasted time. I have lots of kids on my rt, so I am extra careful with the driving..

What time do you start work for the Day? The information you are supplying is not making sense on several levels!

1) Daily evaluation is 9 Hrs and 40 Min. and if you start at 7am and are done by 2 pm that equals 7 Hrs per day or for six days 42 Hrs if you start at 7:30am that would give you 39 Hrs for a 6 day work week Who you trying to BS.

2) Its more likely that total hours for the six days on this route equals 48 hrs and has an evaluation of like a 40k or 8 hrs per day.

3) So if you are under the evaluation as stated on #2 by 1Hr and 10 Minutes per day that would equal an actual work week for six days of 39 Hrs for the week!

4) Now the follow up for items #2 & #3 if You are working 6 Hrs and 50 Min you can start work for the day at 7am and are done by 2 pm if you take a 10 minute lunch break.

5) If I'm wrong about all this and you are working 39 hrs on a route that for six days that should require 57.6 hours or 18.6 hours under evaluation for the week you are not only part of the problem, you are the problem!!!!!!!!!!!

piffin might not be the problem if management enforces actual start times. We all have had weeks of coverage as an RCA where we tried to beat the clock of Eval for the extra jingle in our pockets when we were RCA'S.

At the present time as a REG on 45J/L. I start at an 8am enforced start time and on my way home no later than 2 PM on non holiday season.

Enjoy getting paid to drive home.

-- Okay, I can see your view point, but...

-- The USPS sees the route being run in under the route's evaluation.

-- The USPS does not care if it is done by a regular or by an RCA. Under time is under time.

-- The USPS just HATES to be paying for work hours not actually worked - aka under time or the "bump".

-- Agreed -- IT IS a flawed pay system.

Sorry for any confusion....i am not trying to BS anyone... The rt is a 40k...8 hours a day...i said evaluated at 48 (not the official evaluated time)).. that's 6 days at 8/day because there is no relief and I am working 6 days. Not trying to offend anyone..

Wth... put down 30 minutes a day for lunch, and then you can do it in 36... maybe there's a prize for how quick you get done... an attaboy or something...

Oh, and here's another thought... in your initial post you said there were no reliefs available... so I assume you're gonna run it 6 days a week regardless of your time... so try this... Take the full 8 hours a day to run it, and so instead of getting paid 48 straight time hours per week, you'll get 40 at straight time and 8 at time and a half... 4 more hours per week of pay, and you don't have to worry about setting any sort of new land speed records... what's not to love about more $$$ money??? Mo Money...

No offence taken!

I guess I'm just trying to point out all is well and good for you Roadrunners to kill Evaluation so that you can earn a few more bucks. But then end result effects the craft in general. Not to mention your body and POV if you use one. Also it will take just one time for you dumb azz Manager/supervisor to have you work enough time to just put you over the 40 hr threshold so now you're killing yourself and getting paid 8 hrs less. In essence working a day for free!

Had a PM try that dirty gonna make you go over 40 trick and get a day outta u for free. I called in sick when he bragged he was going to make me run an hour of auxie to put me over and get day 6 on my regular assignment for free. So smug, told fav clerk suckup what he planned on doing, and how powerful he was. I called off sick 1/2 hr before work that Friday. Checkmate you piece of garbage. I had never ever called in, EVER as an rca. He never said a peep because he knew I shut his game down. Never happened again. Not a word said between us. He knew better. My choice to lose the day, or work it for free was an easy one. This guy was the same loser who denied my second Saturday on an H route when I made regular, so we played the game only once in that situation as well. The fact that he feels empowered by acting cocky that he can “legally” find a loophole to get you to work for free, and then sit back and gloat about it doesn’t fly with me. He learned quick. He found someone else to act all badass with once I was no longer an easy target. Stand up or get steamrolled people. These are your choices.

I like your style, Shafted. I've done the same thing. Problem is, my freaky PM doesn't get it. Keeps coming back w/DI's that are discriminatory as hell. All part of the fun. Want to really tick them off, tell them you are following their example...... and continue to do so.
