Rca pay question

I just received my letter to start orientation on july 24th. When should I expect my first paycheck? I am not sure if postal service holds employees back a pay period. Thanks

We get paid every two weeks, PP ends this coming Friday, so based on you starting July 24, your first ending pp will end on 8/4 being paid on 8/11/17

Thank you so much. I really figured postal service would hold back a pay period; this is great news!  </blockquote>
Here are a few tips that may make life easier. Make sure you record your days and hours training and working on either on a calendar or an app but this is important. At first you'll have orientation and there will be a time card for that then you may have LLV training and that will be another time card, then you're  in training and you'll have a time card sent in for that then you start at your office and yep, another time card, (sometimes they make you use the same card and send it with you to the next location but not always) so I hope you can see where I'm going with this. Things can and do happen. Make sure you get paid for all of your hours. There's another reason to do this, RCA probation is 90 days worked or 1 year whichever comes first and every day or part of a day counts as 1 day worked, even training. Mgmt. will not track this for you and if you ask how many days have you worked they usually don't know. One more thing, track your mileage to every training location, you should be paid mileage for anything over the mileage to your assigned station. As an example (If it's 40 miles to training and 10 miles to your work station then you get paid for the difference, 30 miles X 2 per pay) so track the miles and Mgmt. should fill out a reimbursement form for you. ( IMPORTANT) If you give a list of mileage to Mgmt. make sure you keep a copy. I've seen too many post masters desks that can double as black holes, once things get put on the desk they're never seen again.
