My regular is having surgery and he wont be back for 3 months. My question is. My route is a 43k. As a sub am i guaranteed 43 hours for 3 months every week even if i get close to going over 40 hours?

Example: Saturday im off, Monday thru Thursday im at 35hrs. Can they make me have a day off on Friday because I couldnt do it under 40. Or am i allowed to make it to atleast 43hrs. Am i allowed that 3 hrs overtime as a sub?

Also if my hours are getting higher throughout the week cause i help almost daily. Can they offset my green card hours by giving me a day off if my hours are getting too high because i help a lot.

I want to maximize my hours on my route without out getting screwed because i have to help.

2 answers to this. 1. do a great job and take all the hours you can get. 2. After the regulars are out of Christ mas overtime and you don't have to help, work 40 hours or less in 6 days and get your evaluation (43). work one minute over and get actual hours.. my suggestion: do a great job, don't speed..

I don't think Ruerural question was answered... Sounds like Ruerural can run the route at or under 40 hours but then they are making him/her work a lot of extras which are going on the green card and in turn is pushing them over 40 hours for the week.

Am i allowed that 3 hrs overtime as a sub? this average would put u at 44 hours depending on volume comparing friday and monday. in our office you would work friday and nobody would worry about the hour(s) difference....

please ask if still confused

A 43k would be 43 hours in 5 days, not 6. If they can do under 40 in 6 days, they'd be paid 51.6 hours straight time. If they stay under 40 in a 5-day, they'd make 43 straight time. Mgmt has to allow a hold-down to work up to 43 hours & then can replace them. Also... hold-down routes shouldn't be assisting other routes. I'd have to check about the "Holiday season" but they also shouldn't be working Sunday Amazon if this station does Sundays.

^^^This.

Kid, work your 43 and go home. :)

(Don't try to stay under 40...get the 3 hours OT. ;) )

And if management tries to pull you off before you reach your total evaluated hours, smile and file. I lost a lot of money not knowing this when I was an RCA...and misunderstood the 14 day limit.

Oh but they do!

It happened to me so many, many times and they always want you to do your route, green card and anything else they can throw at you and expect you to keep all of it at or under 40 hours.

It's crazy and impossible.
