RCA time off ?

My sub of record wants time off for a family vacation, and I told this person, I am good with working my relief day so this person can have time off. I dont want to treat this person the way I was.

Her request is not during a busy time.

All other routes have subs, 2 small PO's.

Sub-human in charge has the time off request PENDING, union person said the request needs to be either denied/approved, not this pending GARBAGE. Does, this person have any recourse if the request is denied ?

-- Yes -- Denied leave requests ( or in this case Request for or Notification of Absence ) should be grieved in order to make manglement show why.

-- You didn't not mention the requested dates nor the length of the request.

-- No such thing as an official "too far in advance".

-- Is the person in charge aware the new contract provides for manglement to go searching other offices for RCA's?

-- Sub-human in charge = shic?

The length of time is approx 5-7 days. Rather not get that specific with the actual dates, not a holiday week, busy time etc...

"SHIC", good one !!

Minimal effort under normal circumstances to cover routes. Extra effort non existent. Limited pool of extra ppl in the area for assistance. The new contract will have no effect on finding bodies to work.

I will pass on grievance info.

Thanks

If a regular of the primary sub for that route wants to allow their RCA to have time off that carrier just needs to sign in the comment section of their Rca's leave request. Stating they will "exchange" days with their sub and not incurr any "code 3 or 5" days. The sub is to work those days in conjunction with the next week or two depending on how many days were taken.

Is the regular signing the leave slip in the actual contract ? I am aware that it goes on. I do not need to sign anything, if I say, I am going to work, I will. If I have to sign the leave slip, I am ok with that.

I am good with an X-day, that is what I do now, everyday out of the nasty PO is more important than $$$.

Yes, signing the leave slip is in the contract.
