Rcas on call for Sunday

The last couple of Sundays our office was in a jam, whether someone called out, or there was an overwhelming about of parcels. Last Sunday, the city route had over 400 parcels. This led to rcas having to help the cca. Some rcas were called in, and some didnt answer phone. This later led to supervisor calling all rcas into office telling them they are to be on call every sunday/holiday, and even went as far as to put permanent sticker on schedule case stating this. I know this has been discussed many times before, but are there any step 4 settlements referencing this? Even rcas on hold downs are being told they are on call.

Report this to your ADR/DR immediately.

Is your stupe going to pay y'all for being "on call"? I swear, where do they get these morons?

Yes.

For all the kvetching everyone does about the union, I will say it again: we are only as strong as our weakest link. The ADRs/DRs don't know what's going on in the field unless we tell them...they ain't psychic.

Call your steward!! The po gives the hub office an approximate number of parcels being delivered ahead of time. I think they get the info on Thursdays. Your office should be scheduling enough RCAs, or in this case CCAs, to cover it. You are NOT on call. If they want to pay you for sitting by your phone, good for you. If you're not scheduled, you don't have to answer your phone. If you want to work, answer your phone.
