Sorry I am a bit bitter at the moment and my posts are beginning to suffer because of it.
Leave Replacement Task Force? Just as worthless as the 120 day letter. A task force to make recommendations that neither side will implement unless it is another MOU requiring additional duties without additional pay.
I'm the unicorn.... pretty much have always had a sub.... anytime I was threatened with not being able to get time off I wanted, it pi$$ed me off.... so, I can sympathize..... I've had good and bad subs, but I suppose even a bad sub, is better than no sub....Sorry I am a bit bitter at the moment and my posts are beginning to suffer because of it.
Some managers know better. Some just don't care.
I just couldn't see carelessly or intentionally doing that to someone.
I wonder what this crew has to say about it:

You're in agreement with most I read on here, that since the "powers that control", the PO management and the union, are uninterested in making changes so the program works, it's somewhat futile, and many here just vent because of the frustration with incompetence and unwillingness.Leave Replacement Task Force? Oh COVID hit so we can't meet to figure out why these problems exist. Blaming one thing is only switching the blame to something that evidently (as seen on the front cover of the National rag) can be overcome. The focus is on Congress, not on the series of mismanagement steps that have created a unsustainable labor model. You're in agreement with most I read on here, that since the "powers that control", the PO management and the union, are uninterested in making changes so the program works, it's somewhat futile, and many here just vent because of the frustration with incompetence and unwillingness.
How about a task force that motivates the other task force for 120 and one days?
I'm all over here waiting for Bruce Willis to jump out of a mailbox all "yippie ki yay!" with suggestions on how to fix the craft!
Echoing this—I’ve had grievances sitting at Step 2 for six-eight months now because they can’t meet because of Covid. <eye roll> They complain about carriers abusing the Covid leave policy, but they’re unable to work AT ALL for unknown reasons (phone calls/teleconferences/Zoom aren’t options?)Oh COVID hit so we can't meet to figure out why these problems exist.
Think it will turn into part of a campaign platform?Echoing this—I’ve had grievances sitting at Step 2 for six-eight months now because they can’t meet because of Covid. <eye roll> They complain about carriers abusing the Covid leave policy, but they’re unable to work AT ALL for unknown reasons (phone calls/teleconferences/Zoom aren’t options?)
And just pointing out, I think everyone agrees there’s a problem—the issue that the task force would work on is the solution, about which there is much disagreement, even among us here on this board.
IMHO Covid is someone's excuse. Not mine. The point I was trying to convey is that the PO nor the union is INTERESTED in what we believe will solve some of the problems. They are on THEIR course, and yes, THEY include Congress as their go to bailout group. As I've stated prior, in personal conversations with union leaders, they're NOT interested in what WE want from a contract, they already have their plan. So exactly where is the WE in that?Oh COVID hit so we can't meet to figure out why these problems exist. We have 2 rcas in our office for 6 routes.....not bad compared to other offices, i think. In the northeast here there are a ton of help wanted signs. Both rcas have said that if the nrlca doesn't do something big for them in this contract, they are gone. I fear we will be back to no rcas, especially if the contract is not settled in a timely fashion. The rca who does my route is always at least, 2 hrs over eval/day. I am usually over as well. He is sick of working over 40 hrs/week and always working sundays/holidays. Btw the federal stimulus kicked in this week for kids. We were bombed with Amazon thurs/fri/sat. Smh.....it will only end when I quit.
Can you imagine the raw power this mega-force would wield?!All -- May be the NRLCA should form a Task Force to report on the previously formed Task Forces, such as the:
- Leave Replacement Task Force
- Joint Workplace Improvement Process
- The Mail Count Task Force
- The Seasonal Task Force
- Joint Education and Train Fund
-- Has anyone seen or heard of any reports from the above?

Maybe in some cases we haven't heard anything. Every brilliant idea NRLCA comes up with seems to have some component of working for free. All -- May be the NRLCA should form a Task Force to report on the previously formed Task Forces, such as the:

I admit I'm skeptical of everything the union does, but my belief is the task forces they assemble are to give members the feeling they're involved, but in reality they just placate us so we think we are. The only suggestions we give the union that ever have a chance of moving forward are those that benefit the union or post office management. Feel free to cite any examples otherwise. All -- May be the NRLCA should form a Task Force to report on the previously formed Task Forces, such as the:
