RE: Rural Academy

Hello everyone,

I am a new hire with the post office, I have completed everything except Rural Academy and the manager just keep telling me to wait for a email. It has been a week and have not been able to go in and do any type of training or even meet who I will be working with.  I just need to know whether anyone knows the next step of this process or what is going on.

I know that in our area, rural academy is in temp. delay, waiting for the training facility to be completed.  Is supposed to be done next week, so the academy trainers can finish their training so we can begin training new RCAs.  Not saying that is your case, but their is a new training that recently started, so who knows.

    well since the post office has just re-engineered the whole academy and training procedure i would imagine you are caught in that limbo.where we are in upstate ny they are just now training the new trainers on the new program,i heard rumors the first classes were scheduling for first week in nov.stay ready,and dont get discouraged if you are this far,it will happen.congragulations and welcome.

I have a PDF of the new October 2016 "Standard Training for Rural Carriers"

It's a little different, but not much.

Is there a way to upload it to RI so others might access it?

Don't let them pressure you into joining the union during your training. They get a small cash incentive for those they recruit. If you decide to join later do it on a cash basis don't sign the form to let them automatically deduct dues from your check.
