Receiving Credit?

So over 30% of my parcels are missing off "Package lookahead " on a daily basis. Using the load feature the missing parcels come up "Belongs to route or most of the time shows up "Package not found" . The parcels have 2 numbers a delivery address (USPS which is mapped) and street address (Amazon,UPS,etc) Doesn't matter which one is first or last for whatever reason the system will capture the street address sometimes therefore when making door deliveries I feel like I'm not receiving credit for driving or walking distance. I've verified it through LTM and just shows N/A. Has anyone ever seen this situation? I included an example of what it shows on LTM.

That's a lot of parcels to be missing. The clerks "can" actually manually input the barcode for these parcels as well as the USPS delivery address that corresponds / matches the scheme within the database of the PASS machine. Then, they need to scan it again and the correct route number will sounds off and be recorded and the parcels will then be on your look ahead provided there are not communication issues between the two systems.

The real issue is : how do you verify if you are receiving credit or not? There is no way for us as rural carriers to actually verify our credits to the route. Bundles in our packages, unscanable parcels. Political mailings, dps ,to the door, flats etc. etc. etc. I have NEVER seen a volume report for my route other then after the mini surveys and that is limited. So I have no clue as to if I get credit for all the EXTRA to norms we are constantly required to deliver. Daily reports are required by contract IIRC but have never seen one.

I would be happy with a terminal we could look at our daily reports at, as long as we can print a copy if wanted.

Like in your case you should be able to see your daily walking coverage credited and be able to compare it to a pedometer do see if they are even close , or even a count of at door deliveries and the footage.

In my case I have usually 3-5 orphan, non routed packages a day. Even though I scan them when delivered are they credited to my route because they are not on the manifest? I don't know and have no way to verify if they are or not. I assume they are , but we all know the old adage about assumptions.

I feel the same way. No way to verify all this extra work they say is either built in or they just want us to trust that we are getting the credit. Years ago they said we could verify still have not seen it.

You can always have your manager look up a specific parcel bar codes and check to see if it was delivered and if you got credit for delivering it.
I forced my manager to find a way to look up all of my parcels, and how and where they were delivered and I compared them with my entries off my scanner until I was satisfied they were capturing every parcel and every door delivery. Even my unscanned parcels were showing up, and even the ones I scanned delivered to the individual earning a door credit.

it is not just the packages it is all the extras on top of that , tub mail , bundles, hot case mail , election mail every two years, etc. etc. It adds up to 10's if not 100's of thousands of pieces a year with no way for us as carriers to verify the numbers they evaluate our routes with. basically if it isn't in the dps or from the flat sorters at the plant(s) how do we KNOW we are getting the credits? Those two former are at least machine counted.

Sounds like another Mapping/LTM mismatch, and the N/A makes it impossible to tell where that distance went.

Does your route serve 2 zip codes?

No same zip code. It's a kiosk with several hundred boxes. The problem is there's a street address for (UPS,Amazon, FedEx etc) and mailing address for just USPS.

I did a deep dive ran a test on over 100+ packages over 3 months found out that if it doesn't show up on package lookahead then it doesn't show up for driving and walking distance. It'll show a door delivery but that's it. Another thing is if you're using load truck feature it doesn't recognize it just kicks it out.

BOTTOM LINE is it's a sham!!! The system wasn't designed to handle issues like this. It starts with AMS then DPM and then LTM. Its an engineering flaw because you can't map something that has duel addresses. I have at least 10 plus packages to the door a day doesn't receive credit. I ran the numbers multiple days using stop watch it came out to missing an average of over 3 mins per delivery. That's 30mins a day for total of 2hr 30min a week.

Honestly, I kinda feel like this situation has fallen on deaf ears. Local managers don't even understand it and their bosses don't seem to understand it or don't know how to fix it. Distinct and State union reps tried to help but it's like they don't know how to resolve it. I sent something to union committeeman over month ago with illustrations just got crickets back.

THERE'S NO WAY that this is just isolated to just one route actually there's no telling how many routes get cheated everyday and don't even realize it. Before they added package lookahead nobody would've thought about it. It was only after I started seeing a large number of packages missing on a daily basis is when I started to ask questions. So yeah far as I'm concerned the RRECs system is sucks.

my point exactly we are nickel and dime'd tons of time and volume daily to the tune of thousands of pieces and lord knows how much time we are not payed for through the year. And there is no way for us to verify or confirm. The mini surveys are a joke because they always do them in-between peaks. My package volume has at least doubled in the last year or so but my route barely went up last evaluation.
