Recommendations for new RCAs

Some of the latest batch of RCAs are still hanging on, becoming more proficient + etc. I really like all the new hires, hate to see them ignorant of their rights. Going to tell more about this site.

What parts of the knowledge base or Ruralinfo.net or resources should I recommend first?

I appreciate some of the unique perspectives expressed here, and your ideas might help them more than what I'm thinking.

I think they will go on from a great starting point and become self-educated.

RDruckus -- "What parts of the knowledge base or Ruralinfo.net or resources should I recommend first?"

-- I'd go with "ruralinfo.net" and just poke around. It will take some time.

-- "Knowledgebase" can be a bit tricky as in: searching for the right term to get an answer.

-- Give them a basic list of handbooks, manual, etc, such as:

Start off with:

EL-902 -- NRLCA-USPS contract
PO-603 -- Rural Carrier Duties and Responsibilities
M-38 -- Management of Rural Deliveries
NRLCA Mail Count Guide
Publication 32 -- Glossary of Postal Terms

-- if still awake, try theses:

High-Low Option
Formula Office
RDWL
Weingarten Rights
Local Union Representatives
Order of Consideration
Route Classification
Pay Schedule
EMA Table
RDSOP -- Rural Delivery Standard Operating Procedures + Clarification
Matrix
Edit Book Training
EL-801 -- Supervisor's Safety Handbook
EL-804 -- Safe Driver Program
EL-814 -- Postal Employee's Guide to Safety
ELM # xx -- Employee and Labor Relations Manual
ELM # xx -- Chapter 5 -- Employee Benefits
ELM # xx -- Chapter 6 -- USPS Standards of Conduct.
ELM # xx -- Chapter 8 -- Safety, Health, & Environment
Forms: 8127 / 1314-A / 8191
F-21 -- Time and Attendance Handbook
POM 9 -- Postal Operations Manual
DMM -- Domestic Mail Manual

Be sure to tell them that there WILL be a test -- soon!
