My workmates llv blew a motor and there are no spares in our area. The postmaster is scheduled to cover a different route in the rnpo office who's regular is on leave. The postmaster asked if this carrier could alternate between their route and the rnpo route while he delivers packages for his route and they would swap routes every other day to keep the light green.
First of all isn't a vehicle required everyday?
And can management ask a regular carrier to deliver another route?
USPS management coping is next level.
Should the carrier grieve this?

The MOU on assisting other routes is very clear. Regular Carriers cannot touch another route until they have completed their own route. Swapping routes is a NO. A Regular Carrier can assist another route after completing but only on a Voluntary Basis.

If mgmt forces it, that is a grievance.
