Route Bidding

A route was posted in my office and the bidding period ended recently. I am not the most senior rca, but I placed a bid online and was deemed eligible at the time of bidding and i bid on every route in the office. (I am past the 1 year requirement to bid). Now, Human resources claimed there were no successful bids on the route and it must be re posted for bid. I checked the bid history, the status was changed to ineligible. A regular rural carrier and the other senior rca have also claimed to have bid for the route. What are options? Do we file a grievance to stop the re-posting or do we allow it to be re-posted? I have no clue whether it posted again for the installation or become a district wide bid? I am concerned that it will be posted district-wide and no one office gets the router. Or could it be a cover up because someone didn't bid correctly. Give me your guys opinion on what should be done

If any of you that were eligible have proof, file a grievance AND let your Union Rep or DR know.

If it “re-bids” then it bids at District level.

-- When ebidding was coming online, our supervisor just said: "Get to the office you like and get the route you want -- and stay there!! Moving on...

-- Others have posted of getting a confirmation printout or screen shot of your successful bid. Did you or any other bidders do that? ( page 33 of the Automated Bidding for Rural Carriers Powerpoint Presentation. )

" I checked the bid history, the status was changed to ineligible."

-- How far past the 1 year requirement are you? ( just grasping at straws )

-- Have your office steward or if none, your Assistant District Representative look into that. A confirmation printout or screen shot would be very helpful!

" Or could it be a cover up because someone didn't bid correctly."

-- That's pretty paranoid, but not to be overlooked!

-- Would almost have to be that someone knew someone who knew someone, etc. in the ebidding process.

-- Filing a grievance could delay the route from being reposted until matters are looked into and confirmed.

-- Good luck.

I have a screenshot after successfully submitting bid. I am well past my first year. I am not expecting to get the route since I am not the senior RCA, but want to make sure the proper bids are honored. I successfully bid on other previous vacancies in our office, without it changing status from eligible to non-eligible. It seems very odd that it would change like that, and HR claiming no one bid on the route.
