Who or how did my route get "restructured" and what (if anything) can be done about it?
Short version:
Got my Edit book back and 2nd shelf and most of 6th shelf swapped positions, a state highway chopped after a box and u-turn, then later come back from other direction just to u-turn at the next box (1/8 of a mile gap between them) and start delivering again, line of travel shows total route is 4 miles shorter and NONE of the changes I requested were made.
In depth explanation:
In May I turned in my edit book for normal changes (2 new roads, 10 new houses, resequence 4 boxes, etc.) and requested new edit book sheets/case labels. Changes were marked by supervisor as bring done, but never showed up in the DPS, new sheets and labels never showed up, and when I asked about doing DPM and LTM I was told my route was good no errors to fix.
Fast forward to Sat. July 11 and chunks of my DPS are all out of sequence (normal for our plant so...). I fix it, run the route and come back to a packet with new labels, edit book sheets and a letter dated July 8 saying "I have completed the RURAL ROUTE ADJUSTMENT LOT according to your instructions. It will be effective Sat 7/11/26. Enclosed are new books and labels, verify sequence changes and replace labels with ones enclosed. I have only made the labels to fit the case, carrier may have to adjust to their liking. Review WebEES on Friday July 11. If changes are not in WebEES contact AMS. Do not make WebEES changes on this route until the effective date."
I start looking and see:
The very first address belongs on what was shelf 2 left but is now shelf 6 middle and a couple of other randomly placed addersses.
Shelf 6 middle is now shelf 1 middle.
Instead of starting road X at lowest numbers going up to highest then back down to road b, now start at highest going down until road B then deadhead to lowest numbers, u-turn and deliver going up back to road B then up and retrace on that road back to high numbers of road X.
Road B was delivered highest to lowest then deadhead around on paved roads and state highway to road H. It's basically a pig trail that's semi-maintained with blind curves and hills that is a sloppy mess when wet and stays snow/ice covered for days longer than any others in that area.
They want me to u-turn at box JKL on state highway in the morning then later come in from the other direction in the afternoon and u-turn at MNO (1/8 of a mile from JKL), deliver 1/8 of a mile back to an intersection and turn for deliveries on that road which is what used to be shelf 2 middle that is now the end of the route.
Asked 204B or supervisor (whatever they are) for line of travel and see that the route is now 4 miles shorter overall.
None of the changes originally requested were done.
These are the biggest changes I saw, but I spend more time backspacing than typing and this has taken too long as it is.
Thank you for any help you can give.
