It has come to my attention that our district is still using my rrecs scan data, I was spoken to by a sup yesterday, not officially, but I was asked why I am not clocking in and doing all the others scans. I explained with the delay of implementation I am no longer getting paid to do it, and they are not adding the extra 8 bucks for the training period, so I have no reason to do it. I was told I still must do it. I am wondering should I pursue a grievance for myself and possibly all carriers in my office? We were told that the extra money stopped because when rrecs went live the scan time would be added to the eval, well guess what we are in limbo, so why should I still be doing the rural activities stuff without any pay?

Solution
1) I think you are still getting paid to do it. They should have a added the 5 seconds a RRECs scan average to your old evaluation months ago. It might not have been enough to get an hour change but its should be included in your current evaluation.

2) Unless you really don't believe they are going to have something in place within a year. They probably are going to use all your scan data from the previous 12 months (or back to when it started) to generate your new evaluation when RRECs does take effect.

My question is if RRECS is still going to use our current scans in June? Without definitive answer to this, I keep scanning.
As far as I know if & when it ever happens it will still include the previous 52 weeks of data! I've been hanging on that thread for at least 7 years now. Not knowing an end date results in us not knowing a start date for the 52 weeks so it forces every day to be included.

The scans should have been added to your standard hours. You are technically getting paid for it. I know this for a fact because those stupid scans put me to a higher standard hour where I can no longer take the high option. Those stupid scans cost me ten thousand dollars, but I still have to do them.

Yes, the RRECS scan time itself has already been added to the route. Mine went up a whole 8 min (not exciting…). But we haven’t gotten the evaluation data yet for 52 weeks. So you’re paid to keep doing them but not seeing the new route evaluation. Stinks. Lots of decisions to make off new RRECS evaluations (retirements, route adjustments, loss or gain in pay, etc.). This being in limbo has gotten old.

Wait what do you mean 5 seconds a scan?? That’s not even something that was talked about in our office
