RRECS: Parcel Time

Under RRECS parcel time for an item with no bar code to the door there is no clear explanation. You should get whatever the credit is for the size of the item along with the 0.1954 for the per piece door credit drop along with footage from the nanny tote. If there is more than 1 item makes multiple trips.

Safety talks come and go. If you are not getting them under current count guidelines and now find a Safety paper notice on your tabletop. Take your time and start the clock while you fumble for your reading goggles if necessary, read it as a functional illiterate, then question management over everything mentioned because you seek clarity on this. When all done document time as 8127 and if not paid file.

Play the new game by the rules they made up.

I had calendars today from Wounded Warriors, no barcode, didn't fit in any of the boxes today.

Since I read this thread last night, I tried scanning the barcode on the item, the same kind you capture for SPM scans. It took it, let me choose"delivered," then jumped straight to the barcode. (So now, the scammer knows I was at those doors.)

I don't trust our fearless leaders to inform us of the data they are capturing. We did get a stand-up at the start of digitization, but that's it. (They tried, this week, to steal miles based on that data. No one was told they were adding miles. I'm proud of my craft brothers and sisters, they finally stood up for themselves!!! )

My PM rambles on with safety talks. I counted 23 minutes total a few months ago. I started writing it down in my 4240. Now they are much shorter.

But Im curious to see how parcels play out. Would also love to see a postal accountability act from congress requiring postage prices to be printed on 3rd party(Amazon, UPS, FEDEX ECT) labels.

I have noticed something else...text messages on my scanner that appear to be short reminders. These are showing up as "messages." I read them, then after having read them, I delete them.

Always carry your scanner when making deliveries, whether scannable or not. Your steps are tracked when outside the LLV.
I hear peeps say they are tracking this and that... but, my question is... what is the data collection period for our RRECS evaluations??? Has it began, how long will it last, will we receive instructions or training on this new pay system... so many questions, so few answers....

Does it matter??? I dunno... do you think it matters???

I guess it's only our pay... and they say, one day it's all up in the air... probably won't be implemented until 2021 or later... heard nothing about the ~4205 route test... but wth... just shut up and do it.... sounds like fine USPS reasoning.... sorta like just deliver those Amazon parcels... how much extra stuff are we doing without compensation, nor explanation...

You quoted the post regarding carrying the scanner in your reply.
That is what I'm referencing.

So now it has drifted...Does one seriously think the 49 week (no guarantee period) plotting track is the only baseline they will use for our EVAL under RRECS?

For ships and giggles ask your REP or ADR when this 49week study will start? They will reply "I do not know"

Windindaface et al -- "For ships and giggles ask your REP or ADR when this 49week study will start?"

-- Probably will get more responses of: "What 48-week period?"

-- That's assuming the 4 weeks in and around Christmas will not be utilized.

Yes, your point is well taken... but, I just get tired of carriers being the only peeps who are required to do what they're supposed to do... and everybody else can just do whatever they want... they don't have to provide us any information or implement anything on any sort of set schedule... etc... fries my shorts... ?

I would like to figure out how much I will gain on just yearly volume.
Letters and flats count seems about right. But parcels this route got f'd . I'd say even on a summer day we average 15 parcels more per day then we counted for. Christmas 3 month overtime (no misprint) it is probably closer to 30 or 40 parcels for free. Let's go with 15 parcels more on average and say 3 of the bastards dont fit in the box. How much gain would that be?

Use the calculator from my Scan Time thread. The one in this thread doesn't include scan time

Here is the program with your numbers (12 mail box parcels and 3 door parcels) and the results:
Code:
...
Your previous TOTAL parcel time was 72.00 minutes per week
...
Your TOTAL new parcel time is 80.14 minutes per week

Under the current system, 15 daily parcels is worth 72 minutes per week.

Under RRECS it is more complicated. It depends on how far you drive and walk to get to the customer's door. I used some reasonable numbers for driveway length and walk distance, but it depends on your route. If you are consistently driving 1/2 mile to a customers house and/or walking 1000ft to their door, expect to gain more time.

So essentially just on volume alone for parcels . 80 minute gain? Most of my driveways are 200 to 400 feet one way. There are a few in town that would probably qualify as "less then a swimming pool" but they don't get many parcels that require me to walk them.

I appreciate all you do. I have been fiddling the numbers for awhile now even before I seen this calculator.
