Of the things you can control, here is what will help you the most:

1. Mapping - Review your mapping every month and ensure it is correct.

2. Load and EOS times - This is actual time credited towards your evaluation. Make the most of loading your vehicle and what you do when you return from the route at the end of the day. I've attached a list of duties that qualify to be performed during your End of Shift time.

3. Deliver parcels to door - When possible, delivering more parcels to the front door gives a great deal more credit than delivering to mailbox/parcel locker. Don't go so far that you sacrifice service for the costumer, but even three or four more dismounts a day will add up.

Hello All!

A software update broke the rrecsulator, sorry.

And honestly, I'm not certain how valuable of a tool it is anymore... I think most rural carriers have an idea how the system works, right? Plus I made some assumptions (this was pre-RRECS implementation) that turned out to be incorrect. For instance, the way RRECS does driveway time is way simpler than what I coded up.

I may try to fix/improve it someday. However, it is not currently a priority. Sorry.
But on the plus side, I think all of the rest of the calculators still work.

As far as how to maximize your route:
*PLEASE* don't try to abuse the system. There will be repercussions.

Instead, Read and understand the RRECS Comprehensive Guide. Understand how the PO expects you to do your job. When you do which work matters now. Here are some highlights:

1) Load Time -- Don't mark parcels. Wheel the big packages out to your vehicle, use load truck on the scanner, put them in order as you load, then use package lookahead out on the route.

2) End of Shift Time -- Don't case your DPS. Take it to the street, bring back the mistakes, the holds, etc and deal with them on End of Shift Time. Don't work on your edit book when the truck is late, EoS Time. Don't come in on your off day and do case labels, EoS Time.

3) Mapping -- Should be done monthly (on EoS Time). Make management do it. Make sure the park points and front doors are correct, especially if you are moving onto a new route.

4) Parcels -- Don't cram mailboxes. Take them to the door instead.

5) Scanner Entries -- Mostly useless. I mean, do them, every second counts, but they won't break your route if you forgot on occasion. With one major exception: Boxholders and WSS. Know the difference between them. Make sure they are entered, everytime.

Good Luck!
