Rural OT period starts later than other crafts

Little office down the road from us, regular retired, new carrier emergency surgery out for several months, clerk out on maternity leave and the rca quit walked in and back out on Wed, PM asked our rcas to go they said no they would quit! Bigger town down the road is begging for any delivery help on Sundays. Rcas said nope! Asked us regulars to volunteer. Would not be getting OT as it is in the beginning of pay period and not trusting their lying lips that they wont send us home early Friday. So nope not working my 1 day off in a storm for straight time! Hello did no one know Christmas was on the way!

As of this Sunday 12/8, Regulars can volunteer if mgmt has a need for Sunday delivery & it is OVERTIME! Sundays for Regs is paid via the CHRISTMAS ASSIST hours block.
ALL available Leave Replacements in the Delivery Unit & any others connected as a APO/RMPO must be working, THEN mgmt can take volunteers by Seniority, then they can borrow from neighboring offices up to 50 miles away.
Relief Day hours & Sunday hours are automatically Overtime. If mgmt is not paying it, FILE a grievance!

What happens when available rcas refuse can they still then move on to volunteering regulars?

They can’t refuse to work Sundays anymore than any other day. If mgmt allows it, the Regular being forced in has a Grievance.
BTW: Sundays are under the same protection as are our Relief Day. If approved leave is in conjunction with a Sunday, that Carrier (Reg or RCA) is to be skipped unless they request to work if needed.

Our subs refuse to work days at out office all the time, they call off sick if they are schedule for Mondays or day after holidays, one has a bad back(wink wink) and uses it anytime he doesnt want to work. Called off for tomorrow package assistance already pm said she would be in to delivery parcel and I reminded her she couldnt and was told oh well! So tired of fighting them over everything!
