Scanner hack for new annoying beeping

Just wanted to pass along what I have been doing to stop the annoying beeping and asking, "are you still loading or on end of shift?"

Log out and then log back in when you are ready to hit end load or clock out. I also found out this week you can just leave it on the screen that says, "are you sure you want to log off?" It's been life changing.

If you are logging out of the route , are you getting the full credit for loading time and EOS ? Anybody knows the answer to this question for sure ? Because if you are logged out of the main menu of scanner , you are not attached to any route for that period. Will it not affect RRECS credit duration? Just wondering .

Is this confirmed? We have been hitting escape till it asks if we want to log off, then when ready to clock out hitting no and then clock out.

From my experiments on multiple routes and scanners, it continues beeping and will double-beep upon reaching the next milestone reminder (5 minutes from the first) This makes me believe it is still tracking the time properly even if it's stuck on the screen.

You might have something there . Because I noticed ( specially in EOS ) something weird. I have 2 large pickups everyday ( 1 UPS store and 1 postal annex store ) — anything between 150 to 250 packages. Takes me a while to unload and complete other EOS activities. Anything between 35 min to 45 min . Multiple beeping incidents in between . I noticed as I approach further beeping it is no longer coincides with 5 min interval —- say the 5th time happening on 31st or 32nd or even 33rd minute . You would think it would start at 30th minute. Is it automatically excluding the response time ? Maybe one day I will wait for 4 min to respond and see what happens

I suspect its tracking the time unless you hit NO then it will remove w/e amount of time it was beeping for. But as usual who knows. End of shift one is extremely short and annoying especially if doing any route maintenance at that time or having to unload a very large amount of parcel pickups

One of the issues that gets me is that if this was a human being standing by you and questioning you every 5 minutes every day about loading and EOS time it would be considered harassment. Yet, this is allowed to continue unabated. Has anyone been on PMCASING and have this "reminder" occur ?

Why would the clock stop just because it’s beeping and asking if you are still on EOS? No response is not a no. If that’s what is happening that stand up memo should have stated that or else it’s low down sneaky dirty pool. Oh wait, SOP for USPS. My usual routine once back from the route is to go inside the office, scan the barcode for entering ending mileage, leave the MDD at my case, use the RR, grab a nutting or postcon & go unload. I don’t have time to babysit the woodle scamma & give it its sippy cup & quiet its crying.

No reason fir it to occur, since you're not adding time to your eval in pmcasing.

You are probably right that clock doesn’t stop . But people are thinking this because of all the shenanigans PO do to minimize evaluation. There is no trust and for good reason. But I will not take any chance by leaving scammer unattended. Somebody might put it off by clicking “NO”

That is EXACTLY the reason I was asking if this "reminder" occurred while on PMCASING. If the "reminder" only occurs during actual time functions, this only strengthens the the benchmark and harassment arguments.

Just hope no one comes by and shuts it off for you. I won't let mine leave my body to make sure "helpful" carriers dont shut it off.

I keep volume on 10% and set it back on bottom shelf, I barely hear it when I'm standing right up to the ledge. I'm about the only one that a loud beeping scanner annoys. Lots of time a clerk has left an old brick scanner beeping and it's about like having a sink full of dirty dishes to see who is gonna cave and finally do anything about it first.

That's hilarious . I remember that. Mostly in the afternoon , though. Clerk would have to swipe over to window and leave whatever she was doing and whoever was in the office would be looking through hampers and GPCs and sometimes the scanner was just left on a counter in the back.
