Scanner slow down on heavy days

Just wondering if anyone else feels their scanner bogging down on the days after holidays? Not sure if it is region specific or the whole country. East coast, tri state area here.

My package look ahead didn't work today, if that counts. Didn't notice any other issues.
Hmmm on most days the package lookahead only takes a second or two to load. Today it was taking what felt like forever to load. Maybe 10 seconds but have noticed it seems to do this the most on days after holidays. I hate it when it doesn't work at all! Total bummer!

Mondays or days after holidays I do a lot more rrecs scans. The more I do the slower it goes, reset it once on load, once on EoS minimizes impact that day and next day. I don’t use package look ahead, but it’s safe to say it does bog the system down the more it’s used.

Ours had disappearing-reappearing RRECS menu. Seemed like it was updated with new software. Anyone else seen hold request notifications on the MDD before?
Yes! The hold thing popped up on mine sometime last week i think. Coworker was saying she got some sorta prompt when she went to scan a package delivered for a hold. I haven't seen that one yet though.

I am off today . Going back Thursday. But I just saw on our zip code group chat one guy’s scanner just went dead . He still has about half an hr to go with good scanner. Must be very tough day . It’s 700 in west coast . Incidentally the sub working on my route is fastest ( and pretty good too ) . He finished half an hour ago .

It's the same here in the Pacific Northwest District. My scanner eventually freezes about 3/4 of the way through the route pretty much every day. And I have to replace the battery on these heavy days too. I have to always keep an extra battery in my vehicle now, and some of the 100% charged batteries only last for 3.5-5 hrs. These have become part of my daily activities.

Yes, scannner slow, and blacking out. I will go to use it and completely stuck or got thrown out at some unknown point. So that means I unknowingly drive a while without it capturing the drive. Takes forever to get back in. Incredibly slow.

They need to do an update that will alert us when the scanner kicks us out....like as its reaching a dead zone it starts screaming
"I am not worthy", so we can closely monitor the situation and catch them before we drop breadcrumbs and data. Sometimes parcels dont upload and I dont realize until I am past the delivery. I usually go back and recapture. Its annoying.

Mine went black 3 random times and wouldn't reset even after replacing the battery
mine has been going black , over last 2 weeks, but just on my longer Mondays .Battery was still at around 55% or higher too. I have a new vehicle , and it only started to come back to life after i plugged it into charger........even if it was just for a minute or so of charging. Same thing happened on EoS , going black, but i charged it for a few seconds to let it reboot. I did swap batteries the last time. so i'll see if it happens again when i go back to work on Monday, i had this week off.

The slow down issue a few other people experience is the issue i was mostly curious about. It works okay in the morning but by the end of the day everything lags and takes way longer to load. The water drives me insane. The scanners are pretty okay except for in the weather. No biggy. Not like the nature of our job has us out in the elements or anything lololol
