We have another OIC, she has been primarily over city routes and has very limited knowledge of Rural Routes, Just a little background information. Last week I walked into a sheet of paper with the title of OFFICE SCHEDULE on the bulletin board. My name was listed in this schedule along with the rest of the crew. I have never had a written down schedule as a Regular Rural Carrier. I tried to put in an annual day off and was denied and the reason was “Report as Scheduled”. My question is: Once you are on a SCHEDULE does that mean you can’t take off, how far in advance do you need to give notice of a day off and are Rural Carriers weekly scheduled employees?
