Can someone clarify proper procedure for me cause I thought I had it but maybe not.

My procedure:

I bring in collected mail, take to the sorting desk. I separate normal mail, pull flats, metered mail, hand stamp mail, questionable mail (not enough postage) and anything that needed a stamp.

Do I get timed to do this and goes in 17 time?

Or something else?

First off, I thought you were in Washington DC. moving into Jeanette's office, what happened?

You must make 2 separations for "free", in our office that is letters and flats. Any other separations required by your manager are timed events that are placed in column 17. Separations for metered  mail, priority parcels, first class parcels, and anything else you separate out all year long, are timed and you get those minutes/seconds placed in column 17.

The "questionable mail" you mentioned would get a pick-up piece count, but extra time for them would be earned under "stamp stock", unless you were to mark it up returned for additional postage, and redeliver it the next day. I have gotten in the past, after much discussion, a letter picked up, mark-up, and 1 raw piece redelivered for one piece of mail, that I normally would write a question mark in the corner where a stamp should have been placed, and leave in the box for the customer.

When I take DPS to the street I bring back wrong city, utf, out of sequence, current resident for house on route but they have a po box, and letters for previous home owners that never had a box on the route. Letters that would not be found without a "hard riffle" how are they credited?

<strong>If carriers take DPS mail directly to the street, all the DPS mail they bring back, because it is out of sequence or otherwise not deliverable (hold mail, forwardable mail, missorted mail, etc.), is recorded in Column 1, Letter Size.</strong> The fact that the carrier may elect to case that mail during the mail count does not change the re-cording procedure. DPS mail, which would have been brought back by the carrier, is rec-orded in Column 1, Letter Size.

I totally forgot to think about this:

Do I also get timed to place parcels in my separation time? I usually bring back a hamper full and does take a few min. To load and unload.
