So do counters have to go to count school before they can count

Just wondering if the counter going to count school is a requirement because my PM said he doesnt have to go because he went several years ago when he was a supervisor and he isn't planning on going to one.  

Yes, I am really looking for any reason I can to get out of counting.  No precount as of yet either and he doesn't have any clerks the rest of the week, so chances are slim that is gonna happen since he isn't in my office unless he has to come over for something.  And he will have to be in his office because no one else can work

--  All I can say is that it used to be.   

--  Never had a counter show me any documentation of attending or "graduating" from such training.

--  That is a poor excuse as post office procedures are changing -- rapidly -- from day to day and especially from count to count.

--  Maybe your ADR or DR can shed some light attending count school.

It should be mandatory; first count with this “seasoned” PM and caught her today playing dumb on entering totals from letters and flats brought back fromDPS & FSS in the afternoon.  “Um, no you already got those credits for that in the morning”. Funny she knows her stuff when it’s in the PO’s favor.

Apparently no training is needed (sarcasm)..one of our supervisors (204B) (who became a supervisor as soon as she went regular, which hasn't been long) is counting my route.  First question from her, on the first day, as soon as I walk in, is "Do I have to count all of this?" as she is looking at my tubs of flats. I thought my head was gonna explode! my route was the first route she had ever counted..She had no idea how to even write the info on the sticky notes for us.  I think she has only been thru one count and was a sub at the time.  <img title="Yell" alt="Yell" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-yell.gif" />
