Splitting Routes and Pay

Question:

The (RCA/PTF) signed in as the person carrying the route on the 4240. Do they get the full evaluation and miles, even if another sub takes an hour or so of the route?

From what I've seen, if they sign the 4240 they get paid for the whole route and EMA.

But usually at my office management might write "split route" on the 4240 for that day and have the RCAs put the time on a green card w/mileage if applicable.

Most of the time it's not going to matter at my office since most RCAs are going over 40 hours and getting paid actual hours. But when they bring in someone from another office, I don't know.

If the RCA running the route requests assistance or says yes to mgmt if mgmt asks, that would cause a split. If mgmt sends help without request, the RCA should still get the evaluation for the route.
That being said... if the RCA is working OVER the evaluation & mgmt says to Green Card the time, do it. That will pay more. BUT if they are UNDER the eval & didn’t want help, they get the eval & it’s grievable if mgmt refuses to pay it that way.
An RCA shouldn’t be penalized for mgmt wanting to get an RCA back earlier than the evaluated time.

I guess to add:

There's usually a main RCA that comes in, then one that helps case/take an hour ish. A clerk that helps case, then the aux carrier goes over and helps. It's a cluster****.

I guess it draws my curiosity as to why so many people are needed to carry a route.

Inevitably someone is bound to come up to me and ask the question.

But I wonder how stuff like this effects RRECS? When the scanner only sees like 70 miles instead of 130. And that the carrier is done by 1 instead of 6.

If the RCA is scheduled to run the route, they get the eval. If management decides to send 50 RCAs to help and that carrier comes in under eval, that’s management’s right to mismanage. They still get the eval. Now, let’s say this RCA takes half the route and another RCA takes the other half, that’s a split. That time all goes on green card.
