Splitting Routes

Can an RCA get in trouble for refusing to split routes due to supervisor lack of scheduling enough people to take care of each Route. This include regulars and subs.....I worked today from 8am until 710pm! This has been going on since January and now I’m tired of it. Making me look for employment elsewhere. It’s hot outside, which messes w the temperature of my jeep after running one full route then having to split one.

If mgmt isn’t scheduling proper coverage, then the subs or RDWL peeps have a grievance. The Order of Consideration is to be followed when scheduling. Splitting is to be ONLY on occasions like same day due to carrier going home sick. Contact your Union Rep so they can look into it & possibly file a class action if deemed a contract violation.

My old office was short staffed as it was, and then there was always the myriad of sick calls from regulars. Routes were routinely split.

Not only on occasions when a carrier goes home sick. Also if approved leave was awarded when coverage was available and that coverage quit.

As to your overheating issue.... When I was POV I used Lucas 10640 engine coolant additive. The claim of dropping temp by 20 is close. Had to change antifreeze ever winter though in sub zero winter land for adequate heat. I also installed a transmission oil cooler too in my POV'S
