My sub, whos ran my route TWICE, went out for a medical issue that was resolved months ago. She isn't protected under FMLA, hasn't worked enough hour's, and she hasn't called in to inform management of her condition. Management won't fire her yet, and I can't submit an Art 30 for a new sub. What shall I do??

File for disparite treatment, can you go on walkabout for months at a time without consequences? Have you or any regular carrier been denied leave since rca has been awol?

-- Seems you have manglement members who are strictly adhering to the PMG's edict of a few years back to "keep RCA's at all costs."

-- Either that or they don't want District to know about the situation or they have no idea what to do. ( probably the latter )

-- Some offices will send a certified letter ( or more than one to establish a pattern of non-availability ) to the wayward RCA's address basically telling him / her to show up or he / she will be removed from the USPS employment rolls.

-- As long as the RCA's name is on the 4240, you are out of luck in requesting a new RCA.

-- Have you been in contact with your Assistant District Representative about your situation.

-- Have you checked to see if the RCA is still at the address or have you driven around the area on the chance of actually seeing / encountering the RCA?

-- Some times things require the old saying of "If you want something done, do it yourself."
