Scenario...Subs sitting at home, havent worked over 40 hours, mgmt bringing in sub from previous office they (mgmt)worked at to have them work in our current office. No call to our current subs, or attempt to give them the work. I contacted them to let them know, the subs, they contacted union rep to file grievance, union rep said they cant file grievance because they are going to go into overtime...i have my opinion, but want to know what everyone says on this. Union rep in bed with mgmt....whats your thoughts?

Not sure on the answer, but I know my district was frowning about RCA getting over 40 hours if there was other RCAs in the office under 40 hours, but not sure about the borrowing from another office. ANOTHER JOKE!!! How many hours of OT are they paying CCAs and city carriers on a regular basis yet RCA in my district they won't let them go over 40 hours. Kinda funny how the double standards are from one side to another.

I know there is situation in my old office. I guess her RCA got schedule for 23rd of June in another office. Well her regular wants to take it off and put in for it this week. The regular's bosses aren't letting her take off because no sub available, and they won't pull her sub because "she is already on the schedule". What happen to the old rule if someone in your office needed off you work in your office before travelling to other office. I can tell you this right now. When I was RCA in this office, I got pulled back so many times from being schedule in other office , it wasn't even funny. Now we can't pull a sub because they are schedule in another office. What a freaking joke especially giving the other office 2 and half week notice to find a replacement.

This place just keeps going downhill.

They do have the right to stop RCAs from going into overtime. The one exception, If they are working other routes during the week and their primary calls out. They have a right to do that primary route. If they are working their primary all week, management can force them to take a day off to prevent them from going into overtime.

Depends upon the order of consideration and the use of the rca. If the rca was denied primary work, that is absolutely a grievance.
The sub is on hold down on this rt. Its getting ready to go up for bid, but he still has it for now...I already told him it was a grievable offence, I just wanted to make sure. You'all are absolutely the best...many thanks.

Leave Replacements have the right to work if available prior to Subs from other offices & Regs working OT. Subs in my district refuse to file on any of this … they just want a day off & don’t care how it comes about.

Article 30.2.D is the Order of Consideration.

Hold down as a primary or secondary?

As others have pointed out, if primary, that gives them a lot more to grieve. If secondary, he can theoretically cut them off to avoid OT.

Actually, when it comes to Subs from other offices stepping in, any sub sitting at home could grieve. All available subs must be working before borrowing from another office.
Correct. This specific RCA could be cut off to avoid overtime if it's not the primary, but.. At that point, other subs in the office take priority over out-of-office, as seen in the order of consideration I attached. Thanks for clarifying that!

Yeah guys, and girls, hes the primary on this rt. I told him he should grieve it, along with all the rest of the subs, but mgmt has em all so spooked that there will be retaliation that their knees are knocking in their boots...sometimes its lonely having a backbone, but I'd rather be lonely...than a butt kisser...Hahahahaha!😁😁😁

Same issue in my office. Never seen any retaliation in my office yet the subs believe… 🤷‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
