This is what I know, I'm hoping someone on here can tell me what I don't know. We've had a lot of changes at our PO recently, with more to come in the near future. We had 2 rural and 1 Aux route in our office, then they combined several other rural routes from nearby zip codes into our office including a new Aux with it's own zip. Now we have 2 rural routes and 1 aux with one zip code only, 3 rural routes and 1 Aux route with 2 zip codes per route and a contract route.
This is where and why I'm confused and I've asked my PM and he doesn't know and says he will get back to me. First off, we've been told DPS will be coming to our office next month. The full time carriers asked PM how it would effect their routes and he said not much because of all the extra work/pay we will be getting for aka Engineer Study. What I know for a fact is the previous PO I worked at when they got DPS it cut 2 hours off the route time, which they promptly took away from the Aux route and dropped him back to bare minimum of 2 hours per day. Now with DPS coming to our PO and I'm the Aux route they will be rebuilding from and I'm thinking with so many routes to rebuild my route may be cut severely or eliminated entirely. Now for the monkey wrench that's being thrown in. The carrier on the Aux with his own zip is resigning and I'm thinking I (senior sub) need to transfer over to his route because the carriers can't take from his zip (at least I think so) and it's about the same hours and miles as my Aux. Am I correct in my thinking or just shit out of luck?
My current aux shares 1 zip with 2 routes and the other zip with 3 routes.
If you need more details, just ask. Thanks
