Two RRECS Questions re: scan credit

Couldn't locate answers in questions, so here goes:

When a carrier gets pickups without printout sheet (just a note left in the mailbox that a parcel is at the front door) does the carrier get credit for each individual pickup? The scanner shows at the end of the day in review only the total number of parcels picked up combined. The carriers are entering each pickup in the MDD, process of RRECS activities, carrier pickup, no sheet, number or parcels, then scan each parcel.

If a rural carrier is signed into their MDD on their own route, but delivers parcels for another rural route, does the delivery route get credit for the deliveries? Route 20 has four parcels for route 22, goes and delivers them, scans them while signed in as route 20. Does route 22 get the credit, assuming they were scanned AAU to route 22?

These keep coming up in daily discussion so I'm going to the experts for definitive answers!!

Thanks in advance.

I have a Q & A from May of '22 and I think this is what you are looking for. Now, I am not saying that what the answers state is what is actually occurring but here goes ;

For your first question on carrier pickup --

60. How is a Carrier Pick Up credited if the customer leaves a note in the box asking me to
pick up parcels?

A. As it has always been, a note in the box is credited the same as any other Carrier Pick Up
request.

On your second question regarding parcels and delivery--

302. How do we ensure that carriers are being credited for parcels coming to their routes
when other craft employees or leave replacements are delivering them, possibly with the
old MDDs or when they are not using the "change route" function?

A. Parcels, specifically, are credited to the route on which the delivery address resides.

Hope this helps. I'll keep looking for other info.

To spin off of the second answer, what if a carrier delivers a parcel that is for his route but the address is slightly different than it should be.

I have a kooky situation where a customers house number is 22209 but the package lookahead always lists the numbers as 22201. The address will be correct on the parcel but not on the lookahead. Am I getting credit? Also, I have an address at 117 1/2. If the parcel address doesn't have a space after the 117.....it doesn't show up in my lookahead.

In both instances, the parcels definitely belong to my route but how is the computer supposed to know that. If the Q&A is correct, it doesn't matter who delivers the parcel but what route it goes to. These addresses don't appear to belong at ANY route.

But, you know, if we had some ability to verify our numbers....

On yours, if the address is not exact, I would hit unscanable parcel at the address. Their is no where for the wrong address scan to link to any of your addresses to give you credit. It will just go into the internet bit bucket ad unless information.

The crux of my question was does each individual pickup, regardless of whether at door or mailbox, get individual credit. A carrier has five different residential customers who routinely have five parcels each outgoing for pickup but don't generate a form for such pickup. Does the carrier get credit for five individual pickups, which is far different than ONE pickup for 25 parcels. If you look at the scanner the recap at the end of the day, when signing out, shows just the total number of parcels picked up during the day, nothing about number of different pickups.

OR trip to door which gives slightly better credit.......but our mutual point is, you need to scan something to be sure you get proper credit.

it's also, why carriers should request 8127 pay for dropping parcels other than their own. they receive zero rrecs credit if the address is not on the route.
Typically RCA's are the ones delivering and they're hourly for this work. They may be signed in as one route but deliver a parcel to another without changing.

Correct, this was the basis behind my argument when it became apparent they were not switching routes to deliver missthrows. Settlement at step one for said grievance was now I deliver missthrows when done and get paid via second trip. I don’t really agree with it, but I do it to keep proper full credit for route. A couple other regulars have also started doing it themselves. We have tried to show and teach the subs who do this but they refuse to understand the why.
