UPS Surepost

I stole this from social media.  Copy and Paste.

"So I noticed today the UPS is delivering packages with our scans on them. So I spread the word to other carriers to be on the look out and sure enough..... they are delivering our parcels throughout. I took pictures and sent them to my PM like wtf is this"

a reply

"If you don't have a Local, check with your ADR or DR. An email came out today regarding this issue. If you have a Local, they should have received it as well."

and another

"I am a steward on extended medical. I might jeopardize my position by doing so. Please understand my position and contact your ADR or DR. I'm just trying to help where I can without overstepping my boundaries by spreading the word about it."

Thoughts?

They split my UPS guy's route, like they do at Christmastime... I saw the new guy, and I shoulda asked him if he was needed because they were having to deliver the SurePosts that we usually deliver, but I forgot to... he actually seemed like he wanted to tell me something when he pulled up next to me the other day... I thought he was gonna ask for directions or something... <img title="Confused" alt="Confused" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-confused.gif" />

Very interested in this email, but I haven't heard anything about it. Something like this could get the mail count thrown out if the union goes after it, or get additional compensation. Ah, who am I kidding, they can't even get dates right.

I'm anxious to see as well, but fully expected it will be a bunch of BOHICA like usual.

I came home to two UPS surepost packages on my doorstep yesterday that were due to be delivered USPS today. Has UPS and USPS tracking numbers on them. USPS tracking # says we are still waiting for the hand off...

Call whatever office delivers to you and raise holy hell.  Demand to know where those packages are.  Yes I know, you have them, but management in that office is going to have some splainin to do.  When they tell you they were delivered, tell them not by the USPS they weren't, like they were supposed to be.  Then chew their asses out for being to lazy/incompetent to deliver their own packages, from now on you'll just use UPS exclusively since they're, apparently, going to be the ones delivering the packages anyway, etc etc.  If you play it right, it should be fun phone call.

Yeah...it's my office. lol So probably not so much. However, my union steward has taking it to whomever above her who has taken it to whomever above her and as of this morning we were waiting to hear the outcome. Although I did raise holy heck with them about it, too. lol

There's nothing that can be done since UPS has the right to deliver their own pkgs. If a pkg gets delayed in transit, they'll usually deliver it themselves. They also will do so when they will be already be going to the address that day.

If there is verifiable proof of mgmt telling UPS or any other "last mile" company to cease delivery of packages to the PO for any duration, then a grievance can be filed. It is definitely NOT a nationwide wide issue as we've had our normal amount of surepost & others for this time period.

What I am wondering about is if they put it in a mailbox.  If we know we didn't put it in the box the day before and look it up and it shows a ups scan.  Can we bring it back to the office?

I've seen quite a few on some of the media mail count groups saying they are even finding packages with JUST our USPS label on them...but that they did not personally deliver on their routes. Surely something can be done about that at least?

Yeah, I can't even read half the stuff that's on Facebook without laughing. I wonder if they are just mistaken or possibly mgmt has somebody running pkgs behind their backs. They could check the scan using the App & if it doesn't have any scans then it didn't come through us & nothing can be done. If there are scans through our processing plants and/or PREFERABLY "arrival at unit", then the route should be credited properly.

So?  Print out your tracking info, showing it coming to you, then ask them where the hell it went?
