It depends on your po mgmt, your situation, if you are a REPEAT offender on call-ins etc....if you've been mandated, I'd say it's a tight situation in your office, and calling in just might motivate some of your worthless po mgmt to try to discipline you....but....its a free country, so do what you think is best.

Stuff happens. If you are sick, injured or having a family injury I would try to have some sort of documentation ready. If you're calling off simply because you want your day off I wouldn't advertise that. As always if an attempt to discipline you occurs, grieve it!

Sounds stressful. Contact your doctor and tell them you are overwhelmed with work and family matters. They'll start you with a week off work and you can use sick leave. The doctors note will simply say your absence is medically necessary.

I always take the day before or after my relief day to secure my relief day off if I have an event on my relief day Hello gyno, dentist appointment or blood draw....maybe annual leave for hair appointment or something else.

Did you mean Relief Day or is mgmt rescinding a scheduled X-Day?
Might contact union regarding religious factor, but typically unless you happen to have benevolent management, investigative interview (call union NOW and ask what your options are, and possible outcomes)
I'm an advocate of calling your union AHEAD of any potential problem, as you can possibly take different action based upon your situation.
