Long and short of it

RCA

9.6 hour daily

Reg on union biz allweek.scheduled(on WRITTEN POSTED SCHEDULE) to return today ( my relief day)

Calls off night before..(txts oic and tells her at 1845...too much union work to do.not coming in ..she asks if he told me..sez he will...doesnt.she doesnt either...

Since today my off day...phones off too.wake up (915! Damn i was tired)chk phone ....oic calling since 755 (start time 730)

Need me...no one to cover...office 6 rts/5 rcas....all regulars at work...rcas all say no, say 1 who comes in at 9 to start casing ( I didn't call in til I got up)

Nutsofacto day....rca B sez she can come for "a little bit"...cases til I get there at 945..i take over do whole route then.....anyway oic tells me tonight after route she's paying me actual hours on green card and rca B full evaluation.....really?

I believe that the actual rules on this dictate that since multiple RCA's worked the route then you both should be paid on green cards.

(If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will offer the correct answer)

wolfhound -- "rca B sez she can come for “a little bit”…cases til I get there at 945..i take over do whole route then…..anyway oic tells me tonight after route she’s paying me actual hours on green card and rca B full evaluation…..really? "

-- Sounds as if manglement got it wrong ( as usual ).

-- F-21 ( Time and Attendance handbook ), Section 581.1 Replacement Carrier -- Partial Trip Served:

When a replacement carrier ( rca B ) becomes ill or cannot finish the route while on duty, the carrier is paid on PS Form 13-14-A for actual hours worked and any EMA. The replacement carrier ( wolfhound ) filling in will be paid for actual hours worked and any EMA.

-- If you are in a good mood, tell rca B not to spend all that money as he / she may be getting a Letter of Demand from the USPS.

If payroll catches the error....am sure OIC didn't want to get in hot water (again)for working me 6 straight days. She's not gonna fix it or adjust it.....but paying RCA b full evaluation for 2 hrs is just not right imho...i am primary RCA on this route...rca b not even on matrix for it..she said she would not run it or case beyond 2 hours....no matter what. OIC could find no one but me to work..

wolfhound -- "If payroll catches the error…"

-- Pretty sure Eagan will have a red flag show up when the same route has two RCA's getting paid for running it -- one full pay and a second with almost full pay.

"am sure OIC didn’t want to get in hot water (again)for working me 6 straight days."

-- Why would the OIC get into trouble for working you 6 straight days? Other RCA's have posted of working every day for a month or longer.

"she [ RCA b ] said she would not run it or case beyond 2 hours….no matter what."

-- That RCA must have something interesting on the OIC to give such an ultimatum.

Last time OIC failed to give RCA a relief day she was "called on carpet" by poom.....since there were rcas available to give relief. RCA b is current "flavor of the month". OIC allows rcas' "no ...cannot work" alot.....any reason is good enough....rca b had a motorbike ride planned with spouse....therefore could not run or finish route. The other rcas had "similar" reasons. The reasons don't matter...nor does the fact I worked....i would rather serve my customers than clean up a mess and apologize for some else. It's the pay thing that bothers me....she gets 9.+ hours for 2 hours and I get 7? (Should be all ot for me....but since RCA pay so screwy....i lose evaluation time at 40 hours and get actual...since I am fast and under evaluation every day (thinking I would get evaluation for 5 days...) i get f#@ked outta $$$$$ again

File a grievance.
I know.
Then file failure to represent and kick it up.

Oi veh...........politics make strange bedfellows.....ADR and stew "in love" ....... go higher? it never ends......slap on the back and a good chuckle over that stupid RCA that dare challenge us..........................call D.C..........................cripes thats even worse............did you follow chain of stewards? well...let me see if you're important enough for me to return your call...............................short of stapping myself with C4 and saying are you gonna listen now...it seems so pointless.....

wolfhound -- "ADR and stew “in love” "

-- Touchy situation, probably in several ways!

-- If you can document that local union representation and the ADR have not lived up to expectations in representing your interests, take it to the District Representative ( apparently now called the DR, but was the State Steward back in the day ).

-- If no joy at the DR level, and you have great documentation, there is the national level:

Director of Steward Operations ( I believe David Heather is the current Director )

National Rural Letter Carrier Association

1630 Duke Street

Alexandria, VA 22314

-- Pretty sure folks at the national level would be interested in under preforming stewards.

and by being "in love" not meaning in the man~woman sorta love...but i got your backside if you got mine kinda love....not homosexual ...but the GOBC

I don't know what to tell you...by kicking it up I meant just as bt said, DR first, then Mr. Heather. It's state convention time and all national officers are traveling around the country. Has your state convention been held yet? If not, attend...and talk directly face to face to whichever national officer is in attendance.

Perhaps you need to post your observations in the election thread. This guy doesn't deserve national at all.

Oi vei....you do know........State convention.yep. ..did I go? Ha....

Worked everyday....miles away....stewpot HAD to go(let's see convention actually 3 days.he took 12 days to prepare and recuperate must be tough)...i am stewpots' rcaslave ....

Could be worse. Our ex "union pants delegate ", demanded her Union time off leave slip trumped all other leave slips, then she did NOT attend, ( I checked the per diem list for ettendees that had roll call ). She went on a quilting convention weekend out of state with a friend. This is the type of crap that went on at our office during the time she worked there. Also she was an ex executive committee person. Disgusting right? Can't make that crap up.

I'm sorry, I forgot you were his sub.

12 days? Good grief.

I wish there were some way that you could talk to a national officer in person.

Oi veh...pretty sure I woulda backed him into a corner, striped him naked and said..."there, ya idiot...you ARE the same as everyone, so get over yourself already!!"
