My official hire date is 10-22-2011. I was actually a trc before that, being hired in 09. Ugh. Still an RCA for the foreseeable future.

11/20/2010 and earlier = Table 1
11/21/2010 and later = Table 2

*** Here we are 8, pushing 9 years later and many peeps are not really sure where they stand... obviously the NRLCA has not educated the membership on this issue... jmho... :(

My recruiter came in, beer belly blazin'. I make like 30 bucks an hour, it's like working for yourself...care to sign here?
I didn't because I was a probate.
Never mentioned we may not see that salary at at step 13...let's just be paid hourly!?
And for the ones who have figured out how to beat the system; please share insight, a lot of good people are struggling.
Btw, RRECS is gonna steal our cheats on the route...but maybe we will get paid for the last mile?

My hire date is June 1, 2014. from what I am reading we are better off as RCA's money wise so enjoy......

I'm an RCA making 30K a year....no Bennie's. Oh wait I do have health insurance, shit show to find coverage in small town America and it goes up every year.

Over the years, the number of hours needed to make an Auxy Rt a Reg Rt has gone up and up... and at the same time, the number of hours a Reg Rt can fall before being converted to and Auxy has gotten less and less... just another way they've continued to screw us... ?

DB.Cooper et al -- "Over the years, the number of hours needed to make an Auxy Rt a Reg Rt has gone up and up... and at the same time, the number of hours a Reg Rt can fall before being converted to and Auxy has gotten less and less... "

-- How true:

-- AUX converted to Regular Route:

  • 2006-2010 contract: 39 hours
  • 2010-2015 contract: 42 hours

-- Regular Route converted to an AUX:

  • 2006-2010 contract: 26 hours
  • 2010-2015 contract: 35 hours

-- Might as well toss in the requirement to select the "High" option:

  • 2006-2010 contract: carrier must be in a 6- or 8-hour leave category ( a minimum of 3 years as a regular )
  • 2010-2015 contract: 10 years as a regular

- Side note from Clarke's 2010-2015 award: "The Board of Arbitration will direct modification of the High Option language in order that COST SAVINGS anticipated in the Award are REALIZED while at the same time ensuring that Rural Letter Carriers are NOT HAMPERED in MAXIMIZING their incomes in their LAST YEARS of service." ( what about those SEVEN years NOT being able to MAXIMIZE incomes? )

-- IHMO - not that it really matters, but if Arbitrator Clarke is selected again, the Latin inscription "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate" from Dante's Inferno might be appropriate! Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

-- For everyone - install this are your case and look at is daily: Illegitimi non carborundum. Loosely - Don't let the bastards grind you down.

-- This concludes today's history and Latin lessons.

NRLCA would have to communicate to be able to educate, so you know how that goes!

They send out a MONTHLY magazine, but have failed to address this issue almost totally... there's been NO Q&A's on the multi-tiered pay system... no FAQ's etc., APWU & NALC do a lot better from what I've seen... NRLCA sucks... jmho... ?

If you don't ask about your time to make REG, what is really expected from you as an RCA or your pay in the interview process, why should they tell you in the interview? After all you might not be in the final pool of 3 and if you do ask and qualified you might not make it because you are obviously a trouble maker by asking questions.

Proceeding the interview process they should require these new potentials to jot down some questions. From there before the actual interviews, let them loose on the floor to approach any RURAL carrier and ask them their questions. Those who stay for the actual interview....

DB.Cooper et al -- "They [ the NRLCA ] send out a MONTHLY magazine.

-- Apparently it is that time of the year which have NOV-DEC and JAN-FEB issues of the magazine.

-- Then there is the pre-convention one as well as the one after the convention, filled with convention photos - for those who missed the convention because they have to work.

Regardless of the frequency of the NRLCA newsrag... I think the content could stand some improvement... jmho...
