What to do?¿?

So I am a PTF and transferred to a new office 3 months ago. One of my routes is (IMO) over-evaluated. I mentioned to the PM that the route feels really short (I am coming in over an hour UNDER eval time during christams). PM is retiring in June so gave me the DILLIGAF face. I don't know how far back the post office can go when taking money away, but I know they can. I have run routes before that the eval time dropped and I had - in my pay stubs for those corrected hours. Reg is taking two weeks of leave beginning of next year so I will run it 12 days straight. I have two concerns about this. First concern, I feel like I'm committing fraud running this route, because I know it should be about an hour shorter than it is, and second (and more near and dear to my heart), is the no pay dues I'm gonna get once the eval time is fixed...

is this for real? it is called evaluated.. find out what mail is worth time wise... dps is worthless. packages are worthless.. each mailbox has 2 or 1.87 minutes value. each mile is worth 12 minutes... my mail volume is down 300% right now.. why?? the plant is holding mail to avoid (screwing us) overtime... my packages are double (a value of 25 minutes a day)... wait till mid jan. and get back to us!! by the way, the post office will do nothing about you beating your time, just like they will do nothing about someone being behind... don't worry, make sure your edit/4003 are up to date and you are safe...

-- Concerned about committing fraud??

- 1 ) you expressed your concern about the evaluation of the route to the ( less than caring ) PM.

- 2 ) having gotten to the office 3 months ago, there is no way you were involved if the route was counted in September. ( was it? )

- 3 ) to be on the safe side, put aside some of the $$ earned when running that particular route in case a Letter of Demand shows up. For you, it can only be back to the date you first ran the route.

-- If you want to get prepared to fight a Letter of Demand ( which has not materialized ):

- Letter of Demand in the Question Box Section of the June 2015 national magazine

- Article 28 of the contract - Employer Claims - Section 5

- The ELM's Section 462.21 -- Right to Grieve Letters of Demand

-- If the regular and the PM are not overly concerned, why should you be? ( aside from the PM will be long gone and you will still be there! )

-- Don't let it ruin Christmas for you.

You as an Rca can not receive a letter of demand for being fast, but you can if there is something off about the base time of the route. Are the # of NDCBU' s correct? # of collections, parcel lockers correct? Miles can not cause changes to pay unless an official mileage check is done, and done properly. With the type of pm you have you should be fine, because it sounds like he is in on any inflation of the route that there may be.

They cannot come back at you for mileage errors.

Conversely, they won't make you whole if mileage has been under-counted.

(If there is a problem, I hope it's a mileage problem or the above mentioned Amazon-Slamazon scenario.)

My coworker was getting 10 miles over what they actually do. I looked at the 4003s in their book that went back to 2005, same mileage.

The scanner caught them miles lol.

Only be worried if YOU get that route.

Check the miles and boxes. Christmas OT is a perfect time to really slow down, observe, and double triple check that the box and stop count is correct.

sorry I haven't gotten back on here sooner, i'm on my 21'st day straight (voluntarily) delivering and just have been a bit tired when I get home lately... not sure why. I have run routes in the past that the route was re-evaluated then they retroactively took the money out of my next paycheck. They were not my assigned routes, they were just routes that I filled in on occasionally. My big concern is that when the PM retires in June, and the new PM takes over, they will look at this route and see it should be a j route, not a k, and at that point I will have run the route at least 90 times. Lets say it only takes 1 hr off the daily eval, that's 21.37 (I think)... not sure cause they just changed the liteblue site (again), and I cannot log in (again...). anyway, 9 months of running this route 2.5 times per week x 21.37 an hour is $2,067.55. That would mean a NPD for me (or really close if it happens to fall on a good pp.

Make sure you follow the 4003 too. Don’t go off how you were trained or shown short cuts.
My 4003 vs reality was nearly an extra mile in my favor. It’s amazing what that scanner caught that my former post mangler tried to ignore.

Always go by the paper, and let the scanner be the judge. Sometimes it’s beneficial.
