what to do about this rca?

rca on loan from another office. if he doesnt come, i dont get days off. Does a decent job of delivering the mail. Except..he wont call me with questions, but he will call the pm. And he has started handing out the form for "fix your mailbox" Even though i usually dont find anything wrong with the box itself. Sometimes there are washouts on the road shoulder, but nothing bad enough that it would affect delivery. I get to answer questions about these at least once a week. Am i being petty in thinking its my route, and i should decide what needs attention? Another thing is, he leaves packages by the mailbox, and says he does it because there are dogs loose on the property. coincidentally, this happens at the longer driveways. He also recently decided to take dps to the street, and i get to sort whatever mail he brings back the next day. When i started, id get a nice warning not to do these things. i guess times change. and maybe it isnt that bad, but it just seems he likes going around me and seeing what kind of trouble he can cause me

Perhaps this person does not want to bother you when you are off ? How would the pm know much about your route ?

Handing out "fix your mailbox" forms (not sure of the stupid # for it) is not cool.

By the book we are not supposed get out when dogs are present, not realistic, of course. Sounds kind of odd about the long driveways.

Could you really blame him for taking the DPS with him ? I started doing it a long time ago do get away from all chatter and nonsense. Now I take at least 1/2 the DPS just to get out of the sh*(hole PO. Plus, I dont like being a robot putting it in to the case.

Part of this is about the pm. She likes to have reasons to dig into my route and my performance. This guy just makes it easier for pm.

They can't bypass you to borrow in.

But if you want that day off, count your blessings and turn a blind eye to whatever the sub does.

Anyone that does my route I tell them. It's your route, deliver it how you want, I don't care where you leave packages, dogs out don't get out, take care of the edit book and leave a note of changes, ect ect.

I have extremely low standards when compared to my fellow rural carriers lol.

as an RCA myself I prefer to talk to the sub because they have the answers without judgement but since u have no sub go to him face to face and say I want u to ask questions even though I am off because you can learn then we will both be successful

By the book, shouldn't he be scanning "animal interference" and bringing the package back?

Option one is in or near mail box, but I don't know of anyone that will leave package on ground near mail boxes except the other delivery companies! Fed Ex does in in my area all the time and I sometimes get crap from customers for it until I show them the shippers name on the package!

He should definitely contact you. My sub knows to call me no matter how goofy the question as who knows the answer but the route owner. It is strange to hand out the fix mailbox form. I case everything. After all the packages I have no room for my mail and trays of dps. Basically, I think, it is how you were originally trained:)
