Where is the nrlca

Flimflammed(Quasar)

Well-known member
1st trips, 2nd trips, mandates, dps reviews, sector segment and residual or like a mail count.

8127 time, crossing crafts, rdwl rules, and many more items.

If I could read and understand all this stuff, I wouldn't be doing this job. Wearing me out.

And they're down in Texas somewhere, doing what sounds like the same old not much. I wouldn't be spending that 2000 dollar cola money yet. I'm sure they can get that negotiated down.

All these issues of carriers on here, where is their representation or mine, at each office? Management mostly does what they want.

I'm sure it's probably my fault, I don't understand why all these rules are made and so many of them are rather confusing and sometimes conflictary(and not followed). Wears me out.

I don't have time for this. I'm just gonna go in and do and my job the best I can(6 days a week). At least it's not seven yet.

Thank God I can still do that.

Oh yeah, lest me not forget about the edit book, 4003, 4241a, 4240. Fat chance that being updated tomorrow

Don’t know what you mean by “And they're down in Texas somewhere, doing what sounds like the same old not much.”
Nothing is going on in Texas that isn’t happening everywhere else.
If you are being made to do something that’s against the Contract, file a grievance.
Where your Rep is depends on whether you have a Local Stew or not in office. If not, look that up on the Union Website. If not in office, you have to fight for yourself & likely file a Grievance every single time.

Should I do it then grieve, or not do it then grieve. The elm, the po 603, the contract. I am nowhere near smart enough to read, comprehend, and remember that stuff. I'd have a different job if I could.

Seems there is some confusion on here about some issues. Seems there should more
people available to help at offices.

Thank you for the reply.

Yeah, sorry, our contract is contradictory and very vague in a lot of places.
If you have an issue, file a grievance and send it up.and let your ADR or DR figure it out.
As long as it is not endangering you or equipment, our silly rules say do as told, then grieve...kinda silly to me.
If I can show you in writing you are wrong...why do I have to do it....so yeah I totally get your frustration.

Flimflammed(Quasar) -- "Should I do it then grieve, or not do it then grieve."

-- The standard NRLCA mantra is: do as directed / ordered / mandated ( unless unsafe ), then grieve.

-- If questionable, ask for the order / direction / mandate be put in writing and signed by manglement.

-- In any case, the USPS gets the work accomplished and you may eventually find out how the grievance was addressed higher up the food chain, somewhere in the ( distant ) future.

-- As in the case of "Second Trips", grievance GATS # G15R-4G-C 18190733 was appealed to Step 4 on April 11, 2019 and is in abeyance at Step 2 awaiting the final outcome of the representative case. Any additional grievances will just be backed up ( ignored? ) until it has been "adjudicated".

-- Not doing as ordered / directed / mandated, then grieving may lead to discipline - at the very least.

I think he was talking about the big wigs in Texas doing the "same ole not much".... the TXRLCA/Ronmeister to-do... 🤷‍♂️ 😲

I get where you're coming from.... stuff that used to be voluntary is more and more sliding to becoming mandatory....

Anybody see a pattern on this slippery slope???? 🤷‍♂️

Since the Amazon-after-mailcount-backstabbing of 2018, I have been totally convinced the NRLCA is a do-nothing worthless excuse that you absolutely should never count on.

If a huge swath of the workforce can overnight be forced to carry Amazon for free with not even a peep from them, pretty much no amount of underhanded abuse from above will surprise me. Bunch of eunuchs.

I believe Flimflammed thinks National Board in TX because of the thread talking about TX zoom meeting. Doesn’t matter where they are, still no backbone!!! Good ole boys club and now DeJoy has joined

I have said this numerous times, but the union is and has been in bed with the PO for years. EVERY MOU benefits the PO and not the carriers. Example….We have been carrying Amazon for free with no count going on 2 yrs and no extra pay, if it was reversed and things were in our favor, union would of bent over backwards in 3 months to help the PO.

COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF.

DON'T COUNT ON THEM AND NEVER JOIN.

I overheard a telecon yesterday:

"Mandate regulars to come in on Saturday to deliver Amazon for the American people. You'll probably get some feedback".

In my humble, meaningless, opinion, If our job is so important for "the American people", then it should be valued at double time. All mandates should be at a 2X rate, if it's that important.

Where are they at? Probably talking to post office to find out the next way to screw over RCA.

I'm just waiting for them to say RCA need to stay at post office and charge us rent to stay there while working. Maybe next contract?
We all ready have that running joke in our office. Our maintenance even set up 3 cots inside his storage room for supplies. Old PM couldn’t stop laughing at it new OIC was not happy when he did it again yesterday.

So sad, but so true!

Yep all started with those MOU's the union gave us. Can you imagine the amount of money carriers could have been winning breaking the contract, or the amount of step 4's these MOUs stopped, wonder what the union got for this voluntary work?

Agree. Some of MOUs I completely understand and thought were reasonably fair (I.E. working a different route during COVID got you double pay, I thought that was fair). But some just made me shake my head.
