Could mid-term polls published in the union mag be a thing? If a version of the Postal Pulse survey was given for the union who would it score?
I do believe Dem cancel culture may be at the root of wanting to cancel this site.... not enuf liberal wokeness going on here....I'm late to this discussion but I would like to welcome everyone who has figured out a few things that I could have told you 30 years ago:
1. Public Sector Unions should be outlawed.
2. Our Union is run by Democrats and they do NOT represent everyone.
3. Public Sector Unions represent their own interests.
4. Thug activity and intimidation by Unions is standard practice.
5. If you are paying dues to these people, you are a sucker.
6. Despite "The Law" they will rarely represent you if you are not a dues-paying member.
what do you suggest? in all of my 36 years as a union member of nrlca, I have never once seen them endorse a candidate republican or democrat... i will agree that I am a sucker, but ??5. If you are paying dues to these people, you are a sucker.
6. Despite "The Law" they will rarely represent you if you are not a dues-paying member
When's the last time the Union was interested in anything that really benefitted the rank and file.Wow.... of all the things they have done that I really didn't like, this one takes the cake.....
This will truly be a sad day if they somehow shut this site down.... I really hope that doesn't happen....
I've always felt this site was quite literally a lifeline for many in our craft.... I'm sorta baffled why they would be against something that is clearly a benefit for rurals....

They whole notion is just riduculous on it's face.... there is no reason for this action.... if there were, they should get on here and explain it to the MANY dues paying members who use and benefit from this site.... js.... what are the afraid of???Is the information this site provides, property of the NRLCA?
Not sure why I can't view this information, if I am not a union member?
Sorry but you are incorrect, The union sent out letters encouraging the members to vote for Al Gore.what do you suggest? in all of my 36 years as a union member of nrlca, I have never once seen them endorse a candidate republican or democrat... i will agree that I am a sucker, but ??
never saw it, or delivered it. anybody have a copy? maybe electronic copy to post link? i know that our pac impresses their beliefs to political, usually to the wrong ones laugh out loud...Sorry but you are incorrect, The union sent out letters encouraging the members to vote for Al Gore.
Don't remember if they used the words "WE ENDORSE AL GORE" but they did none the less
My guess is that they're treating the compilation of the "Stewards Reference Guide" as intellectual property of the Association. Resolution may be nothing more than removing the index key from the pages. I'm unaware of any binding secrecy clause hidden within a network of unpublished (yet official) policies. Maybe someone else does.Is the information this site provides, property of the NRLCA?

They may claim the compilation (intellectual property) was done through individuals compensated through dues payments, and that compilation is a benefit of being a union member.Isn't the whole point of compiling information, and placing it online, to share it, and have it shared????
So they should be happy it's being shared...?
?
Binding resolution to drop Miles Technologies as NRLCA site design/maintenance, transfer Miles' authority to the lead operator of this site, and permit mimicry of this site to the National site.Run the whole site anonymously.
Yeah, it's not about any intellectual property or any of that nonsense.... that's just a red herring distraction for them to shut down a site they don't like.... cancel culture, plain and simple....They may claim the compilation (intellectual property) was done through individuals compensated through dues payments, and that compilation is a benefit of being a union member.
Rights to that "benefit" come as "property rights" exchanged for dues money.
I'd lean on the real reason for any uproar is a risk of independent, non-regurgitated thought and discussion.
There is a sense of freedom inherited by those not required to get permission before they are allowed to disagree.
