Where to go from here

Thanks for giving us some union news.
You can write national with specific questions, they still won't tell you anything.
I could share what was said. But all of the top secret stuff is already posted here!

The only new thing said. Was that she said in negotiations, resolutions rarely get discussed. Only health insurance, cola, and pay issues. 3 issues max.

And that our constitution states that elections only happen at conventions, in person.

And someone asked why Stuts keeps changing his email ?

A statement put out by National which is on their website states the department of labor says under certain circumstances you may have to deviate from your constitution or bylaws.

A Mail in election could happen as long as A mail out of a constitutional change for this year only to be voted on by delegation yes or no as to whether to actually have a Mail in vote. But the longer National puts this off timewise the less likely chance it could happen. Yes National will say this is their choice because they are the board but if the delegation would stand up then a mail in ballot could happen

She said not gonna happen. And no convention last year, so no resolutions with covid are being voted on. Only the board gets a say. Only the board decides if votes go out...

@PastOThirty University of Wisconsin has a program just for Union. There's a month online course for stewards. How to on Grievance and the whole process from research to arguments to arbitration. This is the type of thing us rebels need. To get educated by the best. And for $185, not bad if it means you can start winning not only against USPS, but also against the NRLCA.

To who? This site helps carriers become more informed and knowledgeable. It puts NRCLA more accountable for their actions which they have been getting a free pass all these years. They are nervous!!!

I learned more from this site since joining then the previous 18yrs at the PO.
I know....... right... but those bozos actually said that.... more harm than good.... I see lots of good done here, not sure what "harm" they're referring to???? ?‍♂️

I have a possible solution to take the heat off this site. I propose offering D.B. as a sacrificial lamb to appease the Gods of Duke St.
After all there is no denying he has been a major thorn in their side ( feel free to substitute another word) all these years he has dwelled here.
Ok, I'm all in. Do we burn him at the stake, or use the guillotine?

So, I am sure most of you have noticed that I have changed the way I share articles from the NRLCA. The reason is I have received a certified letter from the NRLCA's lawyers. From the beginning the NRLCA has been against the Ruralinfo website, but this is the first time they have gone as far as to have the lawyers get involved. I am currently trying to figure out how to respond and what this means for Ruralinfo.net.

I will be retiring next year and I am not sure I have this kind of fight still in me. Not sure why they decided to do it after all of these years, but they did. So if anyone has any ideas please let me know. This would also affect the knowledgebase. They want anything downloaded from the NRLCA website removed from my website.

So, I will continue to try to figure out how to move forward with this or even if I will at all. Please know, no matter what happens, I will always be forever grateful to the support I have received from rural carriers across the country. It has been a long wild ride and all of you have made it worth my time and effort.
This really pisses me off! If they end up shutting you down I will for sure pull my dues from the NRLCA. This website saved me from the NRLCA and the thought that they would use dues money to fund their lawyers in an attempt to shut down this forum would be the last straw. If they don't like the posts on this forum why don't they try to do something to correct their lack of representation? They are the most do nothing association that I have ever heard of. Members and non members turn to this website to get what they can't get from the NRLCA. Yes there are a lot of angry carriers (for good reason) but there are also lots of good ideas and information exchanged. I have a better idea....if our leaders don't like the information exchanged....then resign and let someone take over who is OK with the free exchange of information. Let carriers have one man one vote for national officers. Quit trying to protect the corrupt headquarters with our money. This makes me sick to my stomach. The organization that was supposed to protect me caused me to retire from my job and they don't like negative comments said about them. If they can't stand the heat in the kitchen then get out! Rural Info is the best thing that has happened to rural carriers! Without this forum I might have lost my sanity working all the free hours that I was. At least we have somewhere to vent and exchange ideas. Thank You Rural Info and please try not to shut the doors!

This looks potentially worthwhile.

Unfortunately, the NRLCA National Board convinced itself and its membership that its stewardship has no right to stand on the contract. In fact, it has withdrawn legitimate grievances filed by local stewardship under the mantra that "Stewards cannot file on individual violations".

The fear alleged is that the union could get sued for enforcing the contract against a member's wishes.

It's odd though... I thought the union could get sued for not enforcing the contract.

I may sign up just to learn the capabilities of other unions. I think there is still hope for our bunch. This site (Ruralinfo) and similar others spark thought. That's a great way to "assist its members in the realization of their highest aspirations as workers and as citizens", and, "advance the methods used by Rural Letter Carriers and promote fraternal spirit among its members."

If the Association has issue with Ruralinfo, I'd hope it would organize a "newer and better" competition to it and draw the membership in like bees to flowers. Swatting ideas down though seems to be the status quo.

Perhaps our current (or next) board will reconsider, and aim for a positively robust outcome.
