Who is this?

This is a reminder that prior to Amazon and Cash for Clunkers, this is what rural delivery used to look like.

The carrier who had my route before me used to deliver out of a VW Jetta. Now it all barely fits into a Metris some days. Small pickup trucks and bench seat Buicks & Chevys were very common not all that long ago.

When I started, one of the 48K routes delivered out of a 1992 Geo Metro hatchback that the carrier bought new in 1992, and probably used for 15 years or more.... they rolled the entire load out in one of those little white canvas buggies.... 🤷‍♂️👉

My PM said to me this week that all PM's were required to write make/model and condition of route vehicles back when they started providing Metris'. Anyone with a scrappy car or no intent to buy a car were given Metris/LLV.

So maybe this guy traded in his 1978 for a Metris.... 🤷‍♂️👉

Although it's currently down for the moment, I guarantee my xj will still be running the route long after every single metris is in the junkyard.
